Thats an interesting buldge in the moving part of the rear seat. LOL wonder what could be behind that? Gee I have no idea. LOL Nice set up though. How is the basslink without the amp?

I'm thinking about getting a basslink in the future. I thought the whole idea was that it was self-amplified though so why the amp?

Do y'all recommend an aftermarket HU if you're going to run a sub? What do you need to do to run a basslink with the stock HU and what are the pros and cons of doing so?

I got the basslink with the stock headunit, sounds great. I am curious way the need for the amp as well since the basslink is self powered.

I have pics of the basslink and install DIY on my cardomain page(sig) just click the link on the cardomain page, the DIY is on clubsciontc

The amp is to power my four speakers. The infinity basslink is a powered sub, so no amp is required to power it. If you want to install the basslink with the stock headunit I think you will need an RCA converter...or something like that. You install the basslink through RCA outputs, which the stock headunit does not come with. I would recommend an aftermarked headunit for the RCA preouts and plus it would make your stock speakers sound a little better. Oh, the basslink hits hella hard! I love it.

Is that the best place for the amp though? Is it able to stay cool?

That's the only place I could think of placing it. Anyone with any ideas/pics of where they put theirs?

From the install date. I have a newer, cleaned up install photo, but I'll be damned if I can find it. (Note the Basslink in the lefthand corner of the photo).

My bad, I forgot. I'm at work and my server at work prevents me from looking into some sites. I'll check it out when I get home.

Sweet setup man. Very clean. I bet that kicker kicks hard! Also I see we went with the leather option. Very nice!

I realize your install is in a tC and I have an xB, but I installed my amp in the xB equivalent of the same place you installed yours (underneath the rear passenger trunk cover area or so it appears from your pic). Have you had any heat problems since putting your amp there? When I originally put it there, my amp got really hot, like burn your hand hot. I subsequently installed 4 computer fans (2 blowing air in and 2 sucking air out) and now it stays cool.
