horn wiring information
I am installing some additional horns (air trumpets) I am planning to tap into the horn wires.
Does anyone know what color wire carries the positive current to the horn?
My horn wire is terminated, and it's not very apparent which carries the juice, and which is the ground. Of course, I have my bumper off, and cannot find my test light.
I did try a search and nothing relevant to my question came up - I also checked the wiring guide, but it looks like that only covers wires on the driver's side of the firewall.

thanks, hornet
I still haven't tapped in, yet, as i am still a little confused. forgive my ignorance, but why would multiple wires go to the horn, if it's only positive current?

well since i have no idea how to post this pdf file of this horn wiring harness
you have the power, the horn relay, the horn switch and the two horns
two powers wires(green-white tracer) to the horn relay, one from the horn switch(white-red tracer) to the relay and another wire(green-red tracer) from the relay to the horns

ive got two air horns connected to my two stock horns. if you remove the bumper - youll c the two horns. the metal brackets are the "ground wire" to the body, and the single wire in the harness clips to the back is the positive. REMEMBER only TAP off that wire if you plan to keep the stockies. i ran a trigger wire from the air compressor relay to that wire, so there's a slight delay when i tap the horn. this way, when i tap it to 'wake' someone up, its onlie the stockes, and when i want em outta my way........ LAY ON IT hahaha.hahah

Another advantage of mountin it here is that the horn wires are right there! Easy to tap into. Can't even hear the stock horn over all of the noise!
This thing is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO freaking LOUD!!!
If you are interested in this particular horn I got it off of ebay for $71 total.
This is the seller that has it http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZjacksonbunnie
NOT for the faint hearted!
Did I mention that it's LOUD!!!
Mounting location
Install finished

yep- saw that when i was searching for the answer to the original question i asked...cool man. My short ram is breathin there, so I actually used the battery tiedown/throttle cable spacer screw and a bracket to mount mine. I only have two, tho.
I take it that you are bagged turbo?

ok, we have horn juice.
I ran the poisitve from the solenoid straight to the green wire with red tracer (going to the horns), and grounded the other.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

...Compact air horns/compressor...
E-bay has an air horn with its own small air compressor for $38.
Works great and is LOUD, 139db's. Use a relay as recomended and mount it where the center horn is mounted in the XB. It is the red unit in front of the radiators. I put a Z in the mounting bracket to give some more clearance from the radiator. I left one stock horn in place and replaced the center horn with this air horn and relay setup.
