wow most units know have at least two sets of outputs... all of the radios we sell have 3 outs, except for some cassete decks...

to amplify without preouts you would need a high/low converter, or an amp that has speaker level inputs.. good luck

Your best beat for this type of set up is get a line level to rca adaptor that will take the line level voltage which is greater then that of rca's and inverts the power. Most good one will have a screw that you can use to help set the correct gain to the amp.
Try car domain heres is a link there are better on the market though. You get what you pay for.

For my basslink, I used a high/low converter and set the gains to about 75%. It seems to be working well and though i'll be upgrading to a standard deck and amp/sub, it's working great for me. I don't have any filters or anything else.

Default how is the sound quality

how is sound quality running that inline converter to your amp with the stock head unit? is it noticably different from having an aftermarket hu with rca outs comin strait from it? did you lose sound quality in the rear speakers assuming you spliced into the wires running from the head unit to them?

Line converters are ghetto. The harness that they sell on eBay just has line level converters on it that are wrapped in shrink wrap. You might as well save yourself some money if you want to use that harness and just buy line level converters. Don't expect clean quality out of line level converters... they're a quick fix. Nothing more.

Default line level converters

wait that was sort of confusing.. if i buy a line level converter, one that is basically blockin the highs, and converting the signal down to whatever level rca's run on its going to sound like ___.

check this out

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...725675666&rd=1

ur sayin that the sound quality usin this is definitly not worth it? i would really like to put my subs in the xb, but dont have the money for a new head unit at the moment..

You can go to WalMart and get a scosche high/low converter which you can use to hook up your amp. You just tap into the rear speaker pos and neg wires on the wiring harness and then run your rca plugs into the converter. It gets the job done and wont sound bad at all. That one you posted in the ebay link will work just fine too.
