I need some audio guru's advice.
Ok, So here's the story.
My current car, a 2003 Honda Civic, I messed up. Oh boy did I mess up.
I purchased the car and rushed through everything I did, and frankly is sounds like crap.
Current setup:
Components : Kicker kx2 6.5's with the 1 inch tweeter.
Subs : 2x Kicker Compvr12's in a sealed box. Nothing special, just a box made to specs.
Amps : JWL 600.1 Monoblock , JWL 180.2
Deck : Alpine 9815
I have a 1 Farad digital cap made by Rockford, I also ran a 4 gauge wiring kit from Rockford up to my Optima Yellowtop. Then back down to a Stinger Distrobution block.
I ran the entire system myself and messed it up. I first found that I busted a ground and it was weak. That distroyed my alternator.
But, back to the point. I'm trading the 03 civic in for a box. I want to do the audio RIGHT this time, and I'm having it installed by a professional shop. I don't want to mess up the box like I did my civic.
So, what I had planned before I came here and started reading.
Subs : 2x JL 13w7
Amps: 2x JL 1000/1
Components (????) I was thinking Infinity Kappa 6.1's but I've been reading here that there are better for the same, or a bit more expensive.
and I'm clueless as to "a good" component amp.
My current system lacks the power in bass. The subs sound, well.... cheap. They have that bass for rap and techno, but I generally listen to more rock and things of that nature. I want the ability to have a versitile sub that I can listen to Rock and it be competent to pick up the faster paced beats, but at the same time, if I want to listen to some hip hop can pound.
My current components can get loud....... very loud, but they lack trebble. They lack that high note in some songs that is important to the flow of the song. I miss having that. I have been told that Infinity Kappa 6.1's will cover that sound, but the components are far more important to me than the bass. I want to listen to music, not gibberish that's garbled and misses notes.
I've also been reading about the JL 12w6v2 and it's been said to be more of a "musical" sub. But, will it provide that breath taking pounding when I need my bass fix?
Overall, what I'm asking is: Will Infinity Kappa 6.1 allow me to play my music at an extremely high volume and still remain clear?
If the component set you recommend requires a custom kick panel to be installed, do you know of a reliable maker of said panel?
What amp will suffice for said component set?
and, Which sub performs as close to what I want out of a sub, as mentioned above?
I appreciate your time in reading and responding.

If you want loud and crisp highs, please go buy a set of Focal 165K's. I had them in my old truck and put 120watts on them from a PPI PC2100.2 and it sounded phenomenal. I have only been able to duplicate that sound using some excellent components made here in Germany and desinged by a true audiophile. Make sure you have plent of power for the Focals if you get them, they love power!!

I have a set of basically brand new kappa 6.1's complete with adapters to mount the tweeters on top of the dash and the mids in the door (I pulled em out of my xB) I will sell the whole package for $175 shipped if you are interested.
They have awesome highs and the mids are pretty good. I ended up swapping them out for a set of 3 ways. Here is the thread with my full install details:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=81223
Also if you want the subs to sound very musical make sure you build the box right, for the utmost quality and simplicity go with a sealed box, if you want it to be louder at the expense of a little bit of the quality go ported but keep it tuned low, tune it in the 28-32 hz range, any higher and you will get a lot more output but it will sound peaky.

Personally, I'd suggest finding a store with a large variety of items, and audition them. The differences between the $300 set of speakers and the $1000 set of speakers may be completely pointless to you.
I'll have to chime in and suggest the eDi 6500 set w/ a Nine.2. Perfect compliment to eachother, they get ridiculously loud and don't distort.
Cost to you $480.25. Of course to hear them, you'd need to find someone locally who had them and would let you audition, but I doubt you'd be upset w/ the quality at all.

He's not really a high volume dealer because he knows the stupid kids that live in my area will pay him and arm and a leg to install a head unit. While I give him credit for doing some show quality work, he just doesn't carry the high-er priced items such as the eDi.
480 dollars isn't that much for quality. I'd be willing to pay it.

I will however take a look at the T-2's and see what they are. I've never heard of them to be frank.
Thanks again everyone for the responses.
Edit: I just looked up the T2 and it said that it's not recommended for a sealed box. Why's that? Is it just a pure "pound your brains out" kind of sub?

look on the rockford web-site... u will see them....
a few years ago rockford amps were very fragile. but now they have stepped it up and i think are one of the best..my dad is a lender for rockford (meaning they buy all the machines used to fab there equip. from pops) so i get all the info on there product and what not... they r great....
my box is custom.. not sealed.. u will need custom wrk done if u get t-2's(for max capability)

I highly recommend MB QUART for your components. I paid around 500 for a discus series back when that was around, i had them for like 5 years always crisp and VERY LOUD and dynamic. it was $500 for 2 6.5"s, 2 4"s and 2 0.5" tweets. They never dissapointed. Great for Mids and Highs. I had 2 12's for the bass.

mb quartz is really good stuff. i had 2 12' subs and components in my old car and it sounded ridiculous. for amps, i like pioneer because they last forever and are a good deal for the money.
and phoenix gold also has some pretty good components. very reasonable and play loud and clear as anything especially at higher volumes, at least imo.

Have you thought about JL components. I think that would go very well with the sub setup....and yeah, 2 13w7's are going to sound every bit as good as w6's, if not better, and they will be more able to give you that bass fix you are looking for...
