Default ID Chameleon's

Ok I tried using the search feture and came up empty handed. Just want to know if the stock door speaker pods on the XB will be able accept the Image Dynamics 6.5 Chameleon's w/o any hassel? I'm leaning towards getting a set but I want to make sure they'll fit before I get them. Anyone currently using them in their ride?

I do not have them in my tC, but if i'm not mistaken there near 3" deep. You might just make it if u make MDF spacers but I think you will have to do some minor modifications to make them fit. I have heard nothing but great things about ID speakers in general. Might want to look into something else, for the amount the IDs run you have alot of options.

I'm liking the Chameloen's because I can get them in 2ohms which will make my amp very happy. I figured I'd would have to use some sort of spacer in the doors.

You will definetly need some kind of spacer.I have these speakers in one of my cars and have installed them in many other cars.A very good speaker if you want durable and loud sound is good but not great. For great try Focal....

Yes, they will work fine in the XB door. I am about to mod my spacers to bring the speaker closer to the grill. this will give you the best performance. So far I have a 3/4" mdf spacer for my Diamond Hexes, and I will be adding another 3/4" spacer on top of that.

I tried my set of ID mids in the doors and they fit with no problems on the current spacing that I have.
