Can someone explain how to hook it up the battery for me? I mean I know how to solder and all that, because I have a lot of experience with custom arcade sticks, but I'm clueless on this car stuff lol. Do I still need anything else for everything to be safe?

They are different yep the colors are slightly different. Some colors like green and blue are very bright.

I've got ONE add-a-circuit laying around. I bought a few at the store (and they were quite hard to track down). I'm not a big fan of them because the are so expensive, and other methods work just as well.
How to hook it up to the battery:
The battery has a metal stud maybe .75" diamer coming out of it. That is the terminal. It needs some sort of "adapter" or hardware to clamp down on to it and then crimp down on the big thick wire which feeds the car.
You want to add a wire to this. There's a bolt on there which you can remove, and install an O-ring with your wire crimped on. It will look something like this.. They come in different sizes: for the wire you need to insert, and the diameter of the hole you need to bolt it down to. You can get them at your hardware store, electronics store, etc.
Crimping wires: Strip the wire about a quarter to half of an inch. Insert into the terminal (ring, spade, butt, etc). Insert the terminal into the crimp tool, and crimp! You should be using a REAL crimping tool (rather than pliers) so that you get reliable crimps. After crimping, pull a bit on the wire to make sure it is snug. Connectors come in all different varieties and sizes. For safety, look for the insulated ones.

Each transformer will power either 1 or 2 cathode tubes.
If you want to light up 4 cathode tubes you can either use 2, 3, or 4 transformers.
The cathode kit I sell for $6.49 comes with 2 tubes, and 1 transformer. You can extend the power wires to the transformer as long as you need to, but it is reccomended that you do not extend the white wires past the transformer. They are AC current and extending them will increase the resistance and *could* make the lights dim or only light up half way.
I see you're in SF. I'm in Lafayette, near walnut creek/concord.

I've only got 1 add a circuit and I've got it hooked up to a harness I made that fits perfectly in the tC. If thats what you're looking for... A pre-made solution including switch, how about $35 for the cathodes, wiring pre-assembled, switch, wireloom, etc.

If I order those cathodes from your site, and LED's how long would it take to get to 94015/Daly City. I'd love to give this install a try on my day off monday, or maybe even on Thanksgiving or the weekend after.
I'm also wondering, because I also wanted to go through your site as opposed to superbrightled.com or whatever it was, how far can your 5mm led's light up. I wanted to get some white ones and use them as vip puddle lights, but all the DIY'ers seem to be using 10mm, and your 10mm led's dont have led holders that have a nut that I can use to keep em on the side skirts.

I don't think there is really a way to measure how far the LEDs will light up. But in terms of brightness, they are BRIGHT. Perhaps the 10mm would work better though. If you can wait about 15 days, I'll have 10mm chrome holders with a nut that you can install on the side skirts!
You could order a few 5mm and 10mm LEDs, and test them out to see which you think would work best.

Everything you'd need. Wiring pre-assembled, OEM style switch ( the one I sell on my site for $8 ), , wiring covered in wire loom, soldered, heat shrinked, crimped, add-a-circuit, 1 cathode transformer and 2 12" tubes.

i see myself getting some of these really soon. i suck at installs though but once i see someone else do it so i can assimilate a little bit, i'm all in. the led's i bought were awesome so i'm sure these are great too.
