Toyota Part # 08559-52010 Lighted Ignition ring
The bulb is a #74 wedge based bulb like the one below only clear w/bulb/condom
I used a LED from this page just take yours out and measure carefully the depth/diameter that it will take inside the back of the ring housing then chose the right lenght/width/color led replacement.

Just wanted to share my happiness with a couple of before and after pics.
OEM style bulb w/ green condom
After with Red LED. Wow it's like 4pm and it's BRIGHT!!! as hell. At night it;s ridiculousness No way you can't find that keyhole.
Again thanks to the OP and sdsnybny or I would never have done this little amazing mod.

very very sweet, where did you get the LED? Or did you just change the LED condom/cover off the existing bulb. I installed mines a while ago and wouldn't ming having a brighter light in there......(blue) Or did you use the bulbs indicated earlier in a couple of posts up?

Same page as the other poster made a link too. Seriously. I bought 4 diff. LED's just to be sure I got a good fit and brightness.

???? it's just $50. I mean it's not just the ring. The quality is OEM and you need to set it up right cause it fades out a few seconds after your dome light shuts off. However I do understand the need to save $$ as it took me over a year to buy it cause I finally had the extra cash.
It's kind of like you get what you pay for really. You can maybe find a used Toyota Eco with one and get the ring from it..

Mine had one from the factory. I took it off to change the bulb, but I couldn't get to it. What is the copper coil wrapped around it? I think it might be something to do with the chip in our keys... Anyway, it's the same led as the ones used in our guages and HVAC swaps.

Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but has anyone tried this out on a Scion iQ? If so, are there any differences with the install.
We love our iQ, excepting only the lack of a cruise control and the abysmal interior lighting. The cruise control is now sitting on my couch, awaiting a warm spell to install it, but I've yet to come up with a easy way to find the ignition lock.
Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give.
