Congrats! I installed one on a Hot Lava. Did you install a back-up camera too? The back up cam is awesome on the N1!

They should be about 2000 unless your friend works where they're sold. I had a major diapaaointment today, as I found out the AVIC needs a different Pioneer 5.1 processor. That probably puts me out of the running for this piece until later on down the road. I got my Alpine nav with my Pioneer DVH-P5000mp and 5.1 for now.......

couple questions:

1) Does the screen swivel up/down, left/right?
2) Is there an easy way to override the no-DVD while driving "feature"? I have a front seat passenger that needs something to do.

Bypassing the 'emergency break' safety switch is really easy. There are places on ebay that will sell you bypass for like $20 but there is no need for it. Just wire the safety switch to the ground on your interior headlight dimmer control. That will keep it bypassed. I've done that on both my Expedition and my Saab. Works nicely.

Be safe though...don't watch movies while driving.

The Pioneer AVIC-N1 is awesome. I bought mine last monthand it is nice. Denny installed it for me and we are going to build a custom trim for it and flush it even more.

Pioneer is expecting to sell tons of these units...DOllar per dollar you can't beat the features...Vehicle Dynamics, Navigation, DVD..you can even change the background picture.

For more info..go to www.avic-n1.com

Sweet! Definitely will invest in getting one by the end of the year. Need to get a couple things first before shelling out $ for this unit. How's the navigation on this unit? Let me know.

Plays Dvd/cd/mp3, 6.5 touchscreen, Nav
Blocks the rpm gauge slightly but allows you to see the speedo fine... it also has vehicle dynamics which shows speedo volts g's... etc
It tilts up and down but doesn't swivel...

I would reccomend getting either a cd changer or dvd changer along with this piece however...

The unit goes for 1999 but if you are in northeast pa/new york area contact "extremetinting" tinting for pricing info... if you are in south jersey philly area just pm me and i'll give you directions to swing by so we can work out a deal...
