Default installed my T.V.I.P. w/RKE is not working :(

every thing else works perfectly... car started up idled great. headlights, turn signals, hazards, windows all worked (thats a major plus) when i pushed any button on the remote nada nothing happened...

wiring it up was fine, slightly a P.I.T.A.

it on a 05 xA

i said heck with it, called up toyota and have them fix the problem with it...

i don't think it is,

some thing with the wiring mostly???

put the key into the ACC position pressed the unlock on the remote made the beep, lights flash tried pressing the lock nada, with the key off and out of the ign. push any button on the remote and nada...

Can you tell us the part number for the scion security that you installed? I think there was an 05 and an 06 edition, maybe you got the newer one by mistake. I cant really think of anything else that might be wrong, btw I too installed my OEM security system and it was a pain. Spent 2 hours just trying to undo one plastic piece.

08586-52971 is the one i go and i made sure thats what it was too!!!

and the security system has been discontinued by toyota...

was that one plastic piece, the diode wiring??? i had a little trouble pulling the red wire out but i got it...

Well thats the right model number, guess the dealer will have fun figuring that one out. And yeah, I think it was that diode wire, I kept thinking I was gonna break it but then it finally came out.

well, the dealer said i have a defective unit... good news is its a free replacement... the bad news is i have to pay for labor ($240.00) and diagnosis ($80.00), i'm fine with that...

I bet i know what your problem is. You say that with the key turned to the accessory position the unlock work but not lock right? You can't lock your doors from the switch either because it's a feature that Toyota puts in their cars so you don't lock your keys in the car. With that said it sounds like you have your Constant and Ignition wires swapped. I don't think the alarm/keyless is getting power when the car is off. Check the wiring and I'll bet that's the issue.

good news is the ECU for the alarm is defective!!!
