Installed new amp and sub box in my Box, fuse keeps blowing.
I just installed a Sony Xplod 12" sub (XS-L123P5B)), with Sony 250 watt amp (XM-1252GTR) - I used the wiring harness used to install the Boozoka bass tube. At low volumes all seems fine but when I put the volume up the 15A DOME fuse inside the engine bay blows. This is the accesory fuse, i,ve put a 20A fuse in for now will this couse problems? Is it the amp draining too much power any ideas to fix the problem? Thanks.......

A larger fuse *may* smoke something!
That does not solve the problem. Why does your dome light fuse blow? Your amp is not connected to that circuit, is it?
The bazooka harness (as I remember) does not have large enough wiring for 250 watts. Probably need at least 8ga or larger.
If thats the prob, run a dedicated power wire to the amp. Be SURE to fuse it within 12" of the battery!
edit: Umm, your amp main power terminal isn't connected to the remote turn on wire, is it?

The amp said I require 8 gauge wire, with using the OEM Scion harness I thought I wouldn't have had any troubles.... The Scion harness connects to the constant power feed in the back of the Radio/CD - guess the 12v supplied from that isn't enough hence the fuse blowing. Should I install a less powerful amp? The Bazooka this harness is made for is rated 100- 200 watts?

^^Yup.
Run dedicated power/ground wiring and use the signal from the Bazooka harness. Then you know how its run and that it is sufficient.
Your amp takes high level signal input or do you have a LOC inline? I don't think that the Bazooka is a low level. You're not pushing the high level signal into the low level amp inputs are you???
BTW, have you seen pics of the internal Bazooka amps? Wimpy. Looks like a transistor radio PC board.

Yes I am using the high levels to power the amp, the sony amp has a dedicated socket for high level input instead of the lower level RCA sockets.... Off to get a new 8 gauge power and ground cable, will run it directly off the battery.

^^ yeah.... 8ga. straight from battery+ with a fuse inline within 18" of the battery.... the 8ga. - to a chassis gound that is solid metal to metal contact... ground should be no more than 3ft. long to keep down on resistance

I purchased a amp wiring kit and installed a dedicated power line directly off the battery (fused within 12" of connection,) also a new ground wire both cables are 8 gauge so plently thick enough. Works much better for one the fuses don't blow and the lights etc don't dim when you crank up the amp.
