Default Just Installed Rostra Cruise Control.

Ok, so i just installed the Rostra cruise control and thought id share my thoughts for those of you who might be thinking about DIY. Pretty good kit to start. The harness i thought was a little extra than what was needed. There was quite a bit of slack left that needed to be zip-tied. Really bad pictures in the instructions. After it was all said and done it works just like any other cruise ive had in other cars. Very little tools needed for the install. The worst thing is im 6'2" 250lbs and i had some problems getting in position for the teadius under the dash work required. So for you little guys it shouldnt be a problem.

I purchased the kit through one of our parts vendors. I thought i got a pretty good deal at $165. It took me about 2 hours to put the kit in. The under the hood install is cake, the under the dash stuff took the longest. Like i was saying before the pics in the instructions are crap in my oppinion so youll have to use your imagination a couple of times. Overall not bad though. My dealer quoted me $260 for install so im happy about saving that money.

The only problem I have with this cruise control is that it is hidden behind the steering wheel on my xA, I can't see the power light without bending down. Not a big deal, but not user friendly either.

Yeah its the same with the XB. what bothers me the most is that after you hit the set button there is a delay of about 4 sec before the cruise sets in. which in turn slows down about 5mph so then you have to hit the accel to get it back up to the speed you wanted originaly.

I just installed mine last night too. It wasn't a bad install at all. I did not really like the position of the stalk untill I took it for a ride. That little green LED was pretty bright and would bug me on a trip at night I'm sure.
