Default Kicker 8" L7 under passenger seat.

I just built a box for my buddy that has an '06 BSP xB here in Germany. We put a single 8" Kicker L7 under the passenger seat and powered it with an Orion 600D mono amp. The subs is wired for 2 ohm mono and it's seeing around 200 watts. The enclosure is 13 x 14 x 7 and that's about .45 cubic feet before sub displacement. I gotta tell you it was quite impressive for a single 8". If you have the urge for some bass and the cash to do it, go for it.

It actually sounded very good, much better than subs in the cargo area in the rear in my opinion...and I had many different subs back there...lol.

Was the sub facing down, forward, up, or to the rear? I have wanted to do this for a long time with the same sub. The installer told me it was a bad idea. He suggest down fire and ported in the rear of the hatch. I dont want to sacrifice the room. If you have pictures it would be great. Thanks

The sub was actually facing up twards the bottom of the passengers seat. With that speaker the min. requirment was .33 cubic ft. A downfiring box would loose a little space, and as it is the sub does not have much room down there. I would reccommend this setup to whoever does not want to sacrifice the rear cargo area. The full setup was 2 6.5in component sets for mids and highs, being driven by the new Pioneer AVIC-D3 head unit., and the Kicker S8L7 for the lows being driven by the Orion 600w amp.

yea there is a little bit of vibration in the passengers seat, but it is not bad at all. Our goal with the system was not for extreme bass. We keep those levels turned down. We like our music clear and precise so the bass is kept to a min.
