Default mb quart or boston acoustics

I know this comes to preference but I want to replace the dash speakers in my box. And just wonder what you thnk is a better sounding speaker between the two. I am running 2 jl audio 10s right now in the back and eventully I will replace the head unit when money allows it.

MB Quart in that contest....IMO not even close. Get the premiums line, sweet tweeters and crossover networks are included.

I had both MBQuart Q's (the series prior to the QSD's) and the Boston Pro comp's in my Cherokee at the same time. I can tell you without a doubt that the Quart Q's were much cleaner, and overall a warmer, crisper sounding setup.

I can't really comment on any other line of MB Quart or Boston.....but if the top of the line models of the two brands are indicative of the rest of their line, then MB Quart is the way to go, as long as money is not a concern.

I've had lesser series MB Quart before and the tweeters were too bright.....unless you're going with the MB Quart Q series, I'd say go with Boston......

All of the MB Quarts have bright tweeters. You can usually attenuate them with a jumper on the crossover.

Ive had Bostons before in my celica...not a bad speaker, but I think they should stay with HOME audio. I have MB Quart premium 2-way componets in the front stage of my tC and MB Quart 2-way discus in the back, and I have to tell you, when you tweek em correctly on a good amp...the sound is amazing.
Im using a JL Audio 500/5 for an amp and I still need to tune the back a little more to filter out the lows, but even still..they sound really really good.
Bought both sets on e-bay and well worth the money. I'll give you the sellers names so you can see if they have more. They were both very trustable sellers

I just bought 4 each PCE 216 - 6.5" premium series, 2 each 12" subs and 2 of their new release amps off ebay. I got them last week, just waiting to finsh the sub enclosure and amp housing so I can start the install.

Quick question for the MB Quart guys. Since I have 4 cross over networks for the 6.5"s, should I use the 2 for the rear seat or just the front? I figured go ahead and wire them in.

I would definitely use one x-over per mid/tweeter combo as designed.....otherwise you're going to get some nasty notes coming from places they shouldn't which in turn will probably blow the speakers and or tweeters....

go with the Boston's....they have are 92db@1w1m vs 85db@1w1m.....lets you play louder with less power and both sound nice..the mb's do go down a little deeper if you need it..bottem line is go listen to them
I have used MB Quart a few times and they have yet to impress me

I have MB Quart reference and Diamond audio Hex series, both are great, but I like the diamond audio more. I am installin 15" JL Audio sub in back of my tc next week when I get enclosure I ordered.

I've owned both previously and I liked the BAs better. They are more solidly built and had a much smoother sound.
