Default MDF door speaker template

Does anybody have a template for the front door speakers in the Xb? I have some 6.5 components that need to go in. I even bought the Sat6's and they WILL NOT work with my comps!! If anybody has any links or leads I would appreciate it. Thanks!

the best thing to do is call all the car audio shops in your area and ask them how much they are willing to make it for...thats what i did and got them for $20 for a pair! its a lot better than the plastic bullcrap schorshe (however u spell it) makes. just make sure its mdf

Do you have the tools to make a good plate? If so, just make it yourself. Get some cardboard/pasteboard, soda boxes work great. Temove the factory speaker then cut the shape of the cardboard to go around the mounting holes and somewhat follow the flat area around the speaker. Then place your template on the wood and draw around it. Cut it out. Next, just to be sure everything will sit correctly, hold your new plate in place and with a pencil trace the hole and mounting holes from the inside of the door. When you look at the plate you'll be able to use those marks to ensure you have enough material to support the speaker and have an accurate way to ensure the speaker is centered. Then using your new speaker template or measurement draw and cut the new speaker hole. I suggest, at the very least, painting your new plate. 1. it will make it last longer, and 2. there's no chance of seeing the wood color through the interior grill.

I figure I can cheat by using the SAT6's! I can at least trace where the mounting holes are and then all I gotta do is figure out where the speaker hole placement needs to be. Thanks for the help so far guys!

I saw that link, however, the plate is for the Tc and I didn't know if it was compatiable with the Xb. Sure looks like it is.

What was the problem with using the adapters with your comps? Depth, width, diameter?

I have a set of Cadence comps. The problem was that the SAT6 hole was too small. Turns out that the arms holding the basket has too big of a circumference to fit the SAT6. Another scionlife member reported having this problem and called Schoche (sp?) and they told him that the adapter isn't ment for speakers that are part of components ( i.e. midrange speakers). I wish they would specify that BEFORE somebody buys them thinking they are 100% universal in all speakers.

Anybody wanna buy a pair of Sat6's!??
