And as in 3 MTX 10s u might fit them in the back. as for that amp dont use it sell it . this is that u should do if u dont want to lose that much space. use one 8500 being push by a little 801D that little amp give u aboout 800w of power. i know this cause i help put that same set up in a 300 z and it hit hard. We where in the shop and the wall where shaking. with the 3mtx 4500 u have a total of 650 w rms, but i have three subx and with the 8500 u get 500w rms but u have ont and should hit harder and u pay less at the end. Be like me i am going with one 9500 12s being puish by a MTX 942 amp still dont know or i just go with 2 8500 12s with a 1501D amp. the reason i havent pic is cause i dont konw if i have to any space. All of them shoud hit in the mid to high 140s or even low 150
What is wrong with the amp I have now? It is a quality amp. Besides the fact that youll get more juice from the the 1501D...

not to diss JL but they under rate their power also litsen to duey when he say when a crapload of JL amps go bad this past 6 months, then u have to get another one. save yourself the trouble and get a new amp. y take that chance. and as for rms goes mtx keeps there prower ture. now for amps i like massive now thats an amp they r what u call cheater amps they puymp more power then they say. this shop i go to is also a authorized mtx 9500 dealer. their demo car they have has 4 9500 15s that was being push by 4 1501Ds it hit hard but now they have one massive amp that pushes 8000w of power wow thats what i want

Alright so far you guys are selling me to the MTX 9500 12" with the 1501D amp. I will only get one 12' for now just to see how its sounds. :D I guess I will have to look for someone to buy my amp on Ebay.

Lets talk about the other speakers in the car. What do you guys think would be some good priced, high output/quality, speakers for the front and back.

I have a tC so I hear the stock speakers are not to bad amped. I read somewhere here you can amp them up to 150 watts rms. I was going to just amp them with a little JL Amp I have with gives out about 45 watts rms *2. In the back I bought some Polk Momo MM6s. They are currently powered by a Rockford amp giving off 125 watts RMS by *2. I hear those speakers are trash though. I can not really tell though. My 2 cents.

you are saying that the polk momos are trash? (why did you get them if that is the case).... any 411 on with is good? I thought the stock speakers were pioneer? If that is the case, there is no way the specs are 150rms for them.

I have seen people on this site call them trash. I personally dont really hear it. The stock front are Pioneers and some people acutally use them powered with a good amount of wattage.

I never really figured out if the back where 5 1/4s. I just made some modifcations to make the Polks fit. I believe they are 6.75s. The Polks are.

yikes, i know the stock openings are not that large. What did you have to cut to make them fit? Im not saying that you should get your speakers here but here are the sizes that fit. Can you comment on what you think are the best for overall bass and quality: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-D2pwDRL...s.asp?id=17251

25 sounds about right.......you can stuff any round sized component or coaxial in the front speaker location.....all you have to do is make the proper bracket out of some MDF wood....
