Default my new headunit... Eclipse AVN6600

here's some quick pics of my new headunit that I got put in last week. it's the Eclipse AVN6600 DVD/Navi unit with ipod control. it's great so far, i'm loving it more and more every day and it gets a lot of attention when i play a movie lol ... one of the best features is the iPod control. i keep my iPod out of the way in my glovebox and you can control every function of the iPod on the touchscreen of the headunit. let me know what you think, thanks! oh and 2 10"s and an amp will soon be in, hopefully before the end of next month. i think they'll go great with this HU-

i love that feature. its really easy to use, everything is accessed on the touchscreen as if you were using the ipod. the menu is the same (playlist, artist, album, etc) and everything is displayed on the screen. if your ipod is video capable you can watch videos too, but mine isnt so i havent been able to try that out. its very convenient to be able to control the iPod through the headunit, no need for CDs anymore!

pretty good. i've been looking into upgrading my headunit in the next few months. does it come with a back up camera input? how many monitors can be hooked up to it?

i've been trying to find a headunit that can run 2 monitors, a back up camera, and a ps2 with good ipod controls and haven't had much success.

May I ask how much you paid? I am interested in getting a new head unit. But I already have a portable GPS. I guess I can give that to my parents.

nah, no split. your thinking of the add-on which lets you do 2 diff movies on diff screens since the 6600 has dual-dvd drives.

and I dont think the 6600 can play videos off the iPod. Eclipse is/was pretty far behind in the iPod dept. until the 6600. maybe the new 07 models will have this feature though.

What type of security do these things have?

I'd love to have one, but I can just imagine someone smashing the windows to get at it, alarm system or not.

You can't use the stock steering wheel controls can you? Can you use the iPod connection that comes stock with that car though?

Only NAVI system that can work with steering wheel controls right out of the box. No adapter needed.

i have an '07 AVN-5510-BT and i couldnt be happier. i havent messed with it too in depth, but i dont believe that it can play the mp4 movies off the ipod. as far as steering wheel controls, it required an adapter, but works like a charm.

Is the install pretty much plug-and-play? do u have to find the speed and reverse sensor wires? do you have to do anything special to get the navi voice output to one speaker? it does look hot! good job!
