OMG!!! My car got stolen and all my stuff is gone...NOT
This is what I could be saying if I don't have a car alarm, which brings me to my question. Does anyone know if the Baretta 888 car alarm is a good one to get? I'm looking for some basic alarm systems, that have a good range and preferably the car display on the controller, also at a good price? I seen this one which has pretty much what I'm looking for, the range is about 2,000 ft. and its for $99.99.
Here are the features:
Features
•One LCD Two Way Remote Transmitter
•One 4 Button Remote Transmitter
•2000 Ft Transmitting Range
•Audible & Visual Arm/Disarm And Intrusion Alert
•Code learning Receiver
•Dome Light Supervision
•Anti-Scan Technology
•Remote Keyless Entry (Relays on Board)
•Double Pulse Unlock
•2nd Channel Output For Trunk Release
•3rd Channel Output For Power Window Control, Etc.
•User Selectable Silent Arm/Disarm
•Remote Sensor Defeat
•Dual Stage Dual Adjust Electronic Shock Sensor (Plug-In)
•Alarm Pre-Warning Signal
•Door Entry Protection
•Defective Zone Bypass With Warning
•Remote Panic
•Remote Shock Sensor Disable
•Anti-Car Jack (Programmable)
•Starter-Disable Protection (Built In)
•On-Board Flashing Parking Lights Relay
•Plug-In LED Status Indicator
•Plug-In Protected Valet/Override Switch
•6-Tone, High Power Siren
•Programmable Passive/Active Arming
•Programmable Door Lock With Passive Arming
•Programmable Autolock/Unlock Through Vehicle's Ignition
•Automatic Safety Rearm
•Disarm Alarm with 2nd Channel
•Parking Lights Stay ON or OFF After Disarm
•Permanent Chirp Disable
•Anti Car Jack by Remote or Door
•Door Locking (1 sec or 3.5 sec.)
•Anti Car Jack
•Doors Not to Lock on Passive Arm
•Double Unlock Pulse
•Qualifies For Insurance Discounts
•Limited Lifetime Warranty
•Complete Owners Manual
•Complete Installation Manual
•Made In The USA
Is this possibly a good one to get? Does anyone have any other suggestions for similar alarms around the same price with the same or similar features?

1. The advice I asked pertained to the Baretta 888 which there has been no advice about.
2. I could of named off brands of alarms...doesn't mean they're any good (i.e. acutally go off when someone messes with my car)
3. The actual Baretta alarm is not cheap, its just on a discounted price on the web site I seen it on.
4. The reason why I'm asking is because I have no clue about car alarms. Never had one. Advice would pertain to someone talking about their past experiences with alarms, or current experiences, and or someone they know experiences. To say you should consider a brand of an alarm tells me nothing about its ability to work properly. Nor gives me anymore advice then me just going to a store and looking at an alarm.....what does that say to me about a good alarm? Nothing. If that's as good as the advice gets....which I would beg to differ, then I'll just renig on my question.

Before going off on people who are offering you advice, why not look up the products that they recommend. If you go to any car alarm shop, the first company that is going to come out of their mouth is clifford or viper which are made by the same parent company.

To be perfectly honest I haven't gone off on anyone....trust me if I did you would definitely know it. As for the advice, I explained that part already so I won't go there again....advice goes beyond brand naming which most anyone can do. And personally I would rather ask users of alarms than sales people, because I too was once a salesman (this doesn't apply to all) and alot of the job is making the sale, not always offering good solid advice. Also some people just really don't even know the product they sell, so again that is why I tried to ask people that use them and have experience with them. One more thing, the products that were recommened with the exception of one didn't give me specific alarms, it gave me brands. There's a big difference.

as a highly advertised one ... ( remeber !! an an alarm is just a glorified switch , when it is triggered , it will turn on ... so all alarms are the same !... the more you spend on an alarm just adds more user features .. not switches ! if you have more questions please let me know .....

Thank you, finally some sound advice...The reason why I'm really asking is because I heard some people say that their alarms sucked before, due to the fact that you could practically kick the car and the alarm wouldn't go off. I had never heard of the Baretta brand before so I didn't know if it was like some cheap functioning system with a moderate price to it. Its good to hear that you seem to know something about this system. Thanks again.
