oznium cathode kit questions
#21
Phil - or anyone else that can help out. I have had everything all hooked up and looking good for about 3 weeks. 2 cathodes in front, 2 in back, and 4 LEDs in the cupholders. I have them hooked into the add-a-circuit and the add-a-circuit plugged into the tail light fuse. Problem is - I'm sick of having to have my headlights or parking lights on when i want the cathodes on ((i have my radar detector plugged into it to, and i don't like driving around all day with my LED parking lights and license plate lights on because why burn them out early?)). What fuse are you guys using. I want one that won't stay on when the keys are out of the ignition, but is getting a constant 12v source when the keys are in, but one where i don't have to have my lights on to have it work. AHH! lol let me know. thanks guys.

I would experiment, but it took 15 minutes just to get the damn fuse out. they are such a pain in the ___. I think that's the tail light fuse anyways...or the tail light fuse is the 10 amp across from that one. anyone else know for sure. thanks phil for the reply

Oznium, could i instead of getting a "add a circuit" could i crimp a spade terminal onto the wire and put it in the 3 amp fuse? If so what kind of size spade terminal do i need? would it be the same size as the spade terminals for the rocker switch?
oh yea, could you link me some of the terminals off of radioshack?

hey oznium,
I'd recieved your cathode kit on Saturday and installed them today (Monday). It was pretty easy to install. I had hope that the orange creams would have been a bit more orange. Also it doesnt seem that they are as bright as in the pictures that I have seen on your website. I didn't extend the wires from the cathodes. When are you going to come out with a cathode kit more on the orange/amber side?
thanks

I tapped the wires going to the door switches for ground, so the CCs go on when the door opens...
Driver side was easy, black w/red stripe in the kick panel. Paseenger side, not so easy, had to chase it back half-way.
There's some switching circuitry involved with the door switches as well (I assume its prep for the security system). So when the the Driver's door is open, all the lines are grouneded, when any other door is open, all but the driver's switch are grounded.

Yes it is but doesn't come plug and play. You've got to have some knowledge about electronics, and a few skills to install the Oznium cathodes.
Seems like there is a good market for both.

Great doing business with you Phill, I think the blaze kit should come in tomorrow, I plan on ordering several (like 6 I think) Cold Cathode kits from you once I get a little more cash.
Seeing this thread has convinced me to buy the Cold Cathodes, so you'll hear from me soon!
