PART 2: Audio Question - Best Car Audio Manufacturer/Brand?
#47
Way to bring out the car audio snobs.
I know that Alpine has a great reputation, but I have personally never cared for them -- they're too expensive and I'm not thrilled with the sound quality (on the head units and speakers I've heard).
Personally, I like Pioneer, Polk Audio, and Boston Acoustics. Pioneer is one of the best quality/price combinations out there.

Alpine by far makes the best head units nowadays, although they are a bit pricey. I have one and all my friends' don't compare! Blaupunkt used to be the ____ back in the day, and today their headunits have great features and specs but their designs are just too boring.Alpine then Bluedot, don't care for pioneer. For component speakers focal, mb quart or boston acoustics, amps, MTX for D class sub amps...old school pioneers for mid & highs, don't know about today. Subs, would go with adire, but I like the better audiobahn models for value vs quality.

i'm a huge eclipse fan. i love their speakers, very crisp and clear. amps: eclipse, precision power for clear music with no distortion or MTX for watts for the buck. head units: eclipse and nakamichi for the sound quality, alpine and pioneer for pretty units. subs: boston acoustics for pure crispness bass, eclipse for the all arounder and looks nice with the aluminum, JL for the banger.

Higher model Pioneer Premier headunits are sweet. The new 2005 line of Alpine head units have worse specs than their 2004 models (smaller amps and only 2v preouts) except for the top of the line model. Comparison of specs for 2004 vs 2005 alpine decks. My local car audio shop was the one that told me to avoid the new alpine decks and they are an authorized alpine dealer.. I would recommend CDT Audio for amazing speakers at affordable prices.
