Hey everyone! well I was wondering if its possible if i can just put some subs (3 - 12" subs) in my xB without sound deadening it?? and it will still sound okay/good,?? cause i think WHATS THE REASON of having a system if you have to rip out the entire interior just to have a few subs... help??

Well, it depends on the sound quality you want....

3 12"s will make the thin metal of the xB rattle severely. Inside the car it might not be as noticeable at moderate levels while on the outside it will sound like your car is falling apart. Sound deadening is what separates a good audio installation from just a car full of subs. On my xB I have 2 10"s and I applied deadening to the 4 doors, rear hatch and rear quarter panels. Music feels tight and accurate with almost no rattles.

You can put those 3 10s in there and you will love them, but the sound will be better if you spend a couple of hours putting some deadening in.

 

okay, thanks, and also i want to get the eD mat to deaden my car since itll sound way better with it, i dont want the license plate to be raddling hitting the hatch.. can i just put some MAT on the back of the license plate? so if it does raddle itll hit the mat? or should i just bolt the bottom of the license plate in also, so all 4 corners of the plate will be secure??? and any pics of how to do deadening? and how to take the seats out and stuff to do the ENTIRE car??? .. . thanks

 

I have 2 tens in mine, no deadening, I had the system turned about midway(aftermarket headunit) and it was hitting hard enough to bounce the suspension, I'm afraid to think what it would have done with the deadening I plan to do when I have the money

 

I have 4 subs..2-12's and 2 8's under the seats no deadening no problem

 

go'n sound like 4 can's in a bag! if your hit'n hard it's going ta sound like someones beat'n the sh*t out of your tag, a lil deadening is well worth the $$

thanks everyone!... for the help.. What im gonna do is just get the sound system and play it and see how it sounds... and if i dont like it, than im gonna take it all apart again and deaden it.. but thanks! lol :D .. . but is it possible to get 2 6.5's in a rear window POD and 3 12's in a custom box in the hatch?? will it sound stupid or what? lol another question to answer!! lol :D

BB ?? and the extent of deadening you want to do runs UNDER $400.00! damn, i didnt know it was that expensive.. I was just going to buy the eD MAT from them and just gut the car and cover the think in the MAT

 

well I'm going to gut the interior and cover every inch from ceiling to floor and all the pillars, all the way up under the dash
