Question about 3-way components
I am thinking of buying a 3-way component system and was wondering if they can be run off a two channel amp. I am probably going to do away with the rear hatch speakers (or maybe power them off the deck.) Someone mentioned that i would only need a two channel amp, but it seems like i would need a four to run the 6.5's, 4's and tweeters.

that depends on the model of component set you plan on using...but for the most part yes you can run them off a 2 channel amp
cdt 3 way comps you can run off a 2 channel amp no problem
jl audio you can wire up the 3way comps to either a 2 channel or 4 channel amp
look at the speakers specs to get your info

Most 3 ways are biampable, like xBofMNx said check to see the specs of the speakers first... You can get more tunability when running it biamped, but it is only as good as the installers ears... You should tune it to your preference in music... whether brighter or smoother...

Thanks for the help guys. This will be my first aftermarket system and im trying to learn as much as possible (plan on installing it myself.) Right now i am looking at Focal PolyKevlar, Rainbow and CDT components. I know the Focal utopias are biampable but im not sure about the rest. I am also having a REAL hard time locating any rainbow components. Right now i am leaning towards an alpine h/u, focal front stage, brahma 12", zapco for front and jbl for rear. any suggestions.
