Nice, what kind of radar is that?

Btw, would the radar work if you put it inside the cubbie hole?

No i don't think It'll work in the cubby hole because it needs to detect the laser/ radio waves of the cops radar gun when pointed at you.

i have that same radar, i think...

and i ran the wire the same way, except i hardwired it to the wires for the socket so i still can plug in stuff into that and it's all behind the dash so it looks really clean. the tricky part is figuring out which wire is + or - for the radar power chord and the outlet.

just to let you know, the way I was told to install a radar detector was to put it high up on the windshield. I was told that for some reason it can pickup the radar better. Just lettin you know though.

I've got the same radar detector, in the same place. I wire it through the defrost vents in front (no easy task!) to a power wire near the back of my stereo unit. So no extra wires, and still have the use of both cig lighter sockets. I will take a photo later. There are hard-wire kits that you can get from Best Buy for around $18 I believe.

It's actually (surprisingly) a great radar detector, even though it's not mounted higher on the windshield. Often times I pick up bogeys 3/4 a mile away through tunnels and around curves. (Wondering, "where the heck is he??") If you get a "1" you're safe enough to downshift and slow down before he radars YOU!

yup. Depends if you have a rear facing scanner/360 detection. Here's mine.

What are you using on the dash? man it looks shiny HA! i heard it was bad to use stuff on the dash beacuse it can cause it to crack? i personally like the dull look HA!

Radar detectors are antennas, so the higher they are the better the reception.

OK SORRY ABOUT THAT!

I will take some pics of my install for you soon hopefully. But I would recomend puting the radar by the A-Pillar or near the center by the rear view mirror it''ll work better. Then you can run the wire through the headliner, a-pillar, and down into the fuse box and ahve it start with your ignition so that you dont ahve to use your cig lighter port. MONEY setup!

I have the exact same rader. Mine is also hardwired but you cant see the wire because I went behind the dash. Mine is also wired to fuse box and I have it secure with 3M tape, not those window thingys.

So if its 360 detection is it ok to put it low? I want it to be installed in the right place don't need any tickets.

either a little further up the windshield than where it is.. to at least see behind you.. if it's too close to the hood, the metal will not allow the antenna inside the radar detector to receive the signals.. you'll shorten your detection distance.. and could very well get you a ticket.. a cop has NEVER given me a ticket for having my detector 4-5 inches up the windshield.. they usually only go after people with stuff hanging from their rear view mirror..
