Default RCA Jacks/ Amp Installation

So I am going to put subs in my car, but came across a dilema. For the time being I am going to use my stock stereo, but the dash doesnt seem very easy to take off and i dont want to mess anything up myself, so I was going to get it done somewhere.

Then a friend of mine gave me a good idea.
If I can get a sub installed from the factory, then there are probably already rca wires running somewhere towards the back of the car. Why would they make it harder for the installers to install the sub?

So my question is if anyone has installed their own subs and if they know if there are already some rca jacks and/or power wires already running to the back? If so, where could I find them?

I dont think so. I remembered reading somewhere that when you get the factory sub, it comes with all the wires you will need. So dont think the car is pre-wired for that. Otherwise that would make it easier for everyone to install the sub themselves and dealers dont want that, they want you to come to them.

Adam, The cars are not prewired. You will need to get yourself a high to low converter if you want to use the stock deck.

The dash is really super easy to take apart. Everything just pulls off, no tools are needed. Check out my subwoofer install for pics.

I just clipped on a high/low converter to the right rear speaker. Easy to pop the back seat up and pop the right rear interior panel off. Yeah, the subs are mono channel, but I wouldn't be able to hear stereo anyway.

The car comes apart very easily. Just use some brains and intuition and running wires shouldn't be a huge problem. Refer to the ICE forum for any help.

and as usual i'm the only one saying purchase an amp with high level inputs instead of a converter....it will sound better than an LLC and it hooks up the same way.....just spliced onto the speaker wire...
