just to let everyone know the night vision camera tends to be a little bit bigger then the wiper hole opening so you will have to widen the hole out a bit. a Unibit works wonders.

I must say -very cool. I just have one question. Why did you feel the need to put a backup camera on this car? Did ya do it cause you were having problems backing the car up or did you do it for cool factor. Just wondering...

I was thinking about putting this in the front down in the lower grill so I could see if I was clearing stuff and to park. Anyone else done this? Could you install two and switch them somehow thru one monitor? One in front and one in back?

I'm actually going to set-up a camera in the front lower grill and on the back on my TC. I plan on running both off a Rocker switich (on-off-on switch) so that I don't need a video source switch and can use one monitor. In the next month or so I plan on lowering my car and I don't want to wreck my lower lip and I need a rear view camera cause my back windows are tinted so dark I can't see nothing at night.

I did it for a few reasons. My windsheild wiper would vibrate with my base. So I removed that. I was going to just plug it up but decided it would be cooler if I just stuck a camera in there. Than I can just check out the people behind me at the ocean or the girls picking there nose in the car behind me. Ok maybe it was more for the cool factor and it took the place of the wiper

so I take it the camera is working now. was it just the wiring that was incorrect?

as for a relay, any Radio Shack or store like that will have a relay. now 86 and 30 will go to the 2 pin connector that the rear wiper plugged into. there is a Black wire with a stripe (I think a white stripe) in the 2 pin plug. connect both 86 and 30 to that wire. that wire goes to 12 volts + when the key is turned on.

86 & 30 go to the other wire in the 2 pin plug (not the white/blue one, can't remember the color wire off the top of my head, black with some kind of stripe?) this wire goes to 12 volts when the ignition is on.

87 goes to you cameras 12 volt wire

the ground wire of your camera just attach to a bolt in the hatch

when you turn your car on then turn your rear wiper on the camera will work.
also make sure the video screen you are using is on the right video input setting, video 1 or video 2 depending on which one you plugged the camera video wire into.
No dice. Didn't work for me. Just to test that it wasn't my RCA wires I hooked the cam straight up to the windshield wiper wires and it did work (however didn't go off when switch was in off position)

I thought you may have had the white/blue and black/slvr wire mixed up so I switched them an still no dice.

The way that pic is taken
Top and right go to black wire
Left goes to white wire
Bottom goes to power wire of camera

Although I can't seem to get it to work. The camera sits there and laughs at me.

is there any way to mount it where the wiper sprayer hole is, that would probably be much better for backing up, give you a better perspective on where your car is vs. whats near you in more of a 180 degree viewpoint to your rear end

Ok so I have more problems.

First
I still can't get the camera to come on/off when I turn the rear wiper switch on/off.

Second
My monitor appeared to be smoking like it was getting ready to catch fire and the wires to my camera seemed very hot. I know the male lead plug I used I cut off an old neon light that plugged into my cig lighter. The gauge of the wires coming out seem to be less than the wires coming from the monitor. Not sure if this is much of an issue. Maybe the issue is with me hooking it straight to the blue/red ACC wire in the steering wheel column which is 12gauge and the monitor wires are like 18gauge. Any thoughts?

Here is a diagram of how I have everything set up
