the diagram above is correct. the problem was the connector Icon took off his neon lights and pluged into the camera was wired backwards. so he had everything correct except that plug. a simple mistake, but sometimes those take longer to figure out.

crisis averted! now on to the next one...

The head unit I have will automatically switch to the camera when the car is in reverse. I was working on hooking it up today but didn't see anyplace obvious to hookup the wire. Anyone know where to hook it up?

was there a connector on the end, kinda looked like a rca but it isn't? if you cut that connector off, strip back the outside covering, you will have many strands of wire and another protected wire in the center. strip back the center protective covering and that is your (+) wire. the outter strands are your (-) wire.

now use the diagram above and you should be golden.

Does anyone know if the clip-on-the-rear-view-mirror setups work very well?

I have my camera for the rear now, but I need to hook it into the reverse light circuit. Where is a good place to tie into the circuit?

The reverse wire is red/black by the fuse box, but you can also use the positive wire from the reverse light bulb wire.

this is like the one I got off ebay. it's a night vision camera so you can see out about 10-15 feet with no light. the one thing about the night vision cameras is that they are bigger then the wiper hole, so you will have to make the wiper hole bigger. but I will tell you the night vision is well worth the extra work.
