Default Refreshing xB dash w/o greasy ArmorAll

I was looking at my dash and noticed it looked a bit dry. sitting in the sun def has a bleaching effect on it. Like alot of other people here, i refuse to put that distgusting, greasy crap that is ArmorAll on a *matte* surface dashboard.

So just a tip for anyone else in the same predicament:

Turtle Wax Ice works awesome on the dash and interior. It gives moisture to the surface with a very subtle gloss. Really helped refresh the plastic w/o all that oily gunk.

Hope it helps

I am using the Smartwax line of products with good results all around. I really like the interior product because it leaves the dash clean yet still keeps the "matte" finish, no gloss.

To each his own, but I found a non greasy version of ArmorAll in these little convenient wipes and they clean and condition with no oily residue and there is no shine. I know previouly I hated the ArmorAll products, but this actually works well.

One thing that most people forget is to condition their seals around the doors and keep them clean. I've had many vehicles and I've never had my seals dry out and crack or need replacing unlike many of my friends. It also makes the vehicle look cleaner too when those seals are nice and dark rather than bleached out and dry looking.

Glad I could be helpful. Don't be surprised how dirty they are the first time you clean and condition them. My buddy bought a 2004 xB and we did his this past weekend and man they were dirty. I figure the previous owner never thought about it. They sure looked so much better when we got finished because they were dry as a bone.

Yeah the ArmorAll wipes are a good size and they seem to be thick and strong enough that they don't like tear while you are using them. I found them to work very well for this task. Don't forget the hatch if you have an xB.

+ 1

Gonna clean the door seals when I get home from work today.

Good tip!

BTW, to the OP, if you go over the dash with a dry cloth after you armorall, it reduces the "greasy" effect. They also sell low-shine armorall for a matte finish.

I like this:

Lo/almost no gloss and limited "gassing off" of product. Being as I am San Diego, UV protection means a lot to me, and this product does a wonderful job in that department.

I've been using the Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer. For the windows, can't beat Invisible Glass in the aerosol can, it also works nicely on the interior plastic if you have a spill or any heavily soiled area, and I use it on my wheels at shows, best stuff ever.

Turbowax has a leather, vinyl rubber gel, may try that on the seals.

303 Aerospace Protectant FTW. There is nothing that will match it for protecting your dash. And, the finish is matte just like the dash so you have no greasies. Oh, and it doesn't outgas and make your windows nasty like Armour All does.
