i think at this point everything is going to have to be custom...expensive, but if you want to be the first....

I have a question, why? I'm not hating or anything, I am just curious as to why you want a roll cage.

There are a few with roll bars out there already. Check out http://www.highonscion.com. Their show xB has a red roll cage in it. You can see pictures of it in the Gallery section of their web site. They are a Scion Life sponsor and I bet they would hook you with the 411.

There are several shops in Sonoma (Sears Point) that could fabricate one, you will have to talk to them to see if they would do it.

Roll bars/cages never make me "trip out" ..... might be a waste of $$$....

^^^ That's a non-functional 'roll cage'.

All that thing will do is ensure you and your passengers get SERIOUS head injuries if ever in an accident.

Keep in mind that any real roll cage for the xB will lose you the use of the back seat. And if you do insist on installing one, please be sure that any tubing that runs through any seating area id properly padded.

Autopower is the manufacturer that made the roll bar I have in my 240sx. You may want to check if they make one for Scion.

If I extended that into a full cage by bringing bars forwared, I would have to have them padded - or if I ever let any passengers into the rear seats. The other consideration - there isn't much 'wow' factor to a cage on a vehicle with tinted windows. It's just not visible from the outside.

Check w/ Galland Racing in Oakland, or see if S&T Racing in San Leandro is still open. If not, try Griffen Motorwerks in Berkeley. Ask for James Chen, he should be able to point you in the right direction.

With a cage, you have to make sure the rear seating area is done properly. If you look at the picture above, that is not how you want your rear supports. The rear supports should be straight, not bent like that. That has no structural rigidity and will bend on impact. That cage looks like its for looks only. If you want a cage, make sure its for safety, and as previously stated, padded.

Also, by adding the weight of the cage, you're going to be slowing the xB down a tad.

I had a cage in my Celica, but then again, I raced it and gutted the majority of the interior. And it had an 18RG in it at the time.

You may just want to add two seperate hoops, one behind the front seat, and one behind the rear seat. Then have them tied in together, and then have the rear supports come straight back to the rear floor near the tail lights.

Roll bars/cages should be for safety, not the Oh/Ah factor. It must also be properly designed and welded.

Thats so cheezy... Tell ya what why not make your own out of pvc pipe. By the time you cover it up with neoprene padding and racing stickers your poser freinds won't know the diffrence and you can tell them honestly you made it. I've built several REAL cages for race cars when I used to do the dirt track thing. Cages are a PITA to work around and to get in & out of the car. They tend to be ugly also. They will also save you life when you flip end over end at 85mph and then barrel roll down a hill, I can tell you that from experiance.

in the application that a roll cage is meant for that one youy mentioned above is not functional. it is however fuctional in the purpose that it is used for. it could hurt someone though if it is not contructed properly.

It WILL hurt someone if you're running unpadded tubing through passenger areas.

It's like paper / scissors / rock.

Mild steel tubing crushes head - always.
