Default Scion TC add on subwoofer from Scion for $450 any reviews?

Has anyone had the $450 subwoofer/amp add on installed in there TC? I usually have a larger stereo and am use to more bass.. but if it sounds decent and would still allow me to have trunk space, that would be nice.
Any reviews or thoughts from anyone would be appreciated. Or does anyone make any cheaper custom audio options for the TC?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hello,

I am sure the sub/amp combo is buy bazooka? If it is you could get it for a lot less on ebay and install it yourself and have some extra cash.

I got a 10" alpine subwoofer, alpine 600 rms amp, and a box for under 400, much louder/better deal

$450 is kinda high but i think thats installed right? If you install it yourself it's WAY cheaper. I just looked on ebay and the cheapest i found it for was $279. I saw the same one on trdsparks for like $15 bucks cheaper than that. I've heard one before and it does pretty good. Its got a real clean sound. If you're not looking to shake pictures off the wall in your neighbors house then it's probably gonna be enough for ya. The really good thing about it is that it doesn't take up anlot of space in the back like a pre-fab box will it just tucks into the corner. Just my loose change!!

Igot mine shipped from mcgeorgeparts for $280 i think. It's fairly easy to install yourself. Sounds good after you mess with the gain **** and stereo levels.

Default McGeorge

Is McGeorge a website? I'm having trouble finding it.
And if you or someone did install it yourself.. did you have any problems? I've read a few posts here and there that said some extra settings had to be changed in order for the bass to work correctly.???

Thanks,
Kevin

Yea $449 is a bit steep for a sub upgrade, but 1. I can afford it and 2. it sounds damn good to me. I'm looking for sound balance, not thumping. But in my expert opinion, this sub has some thump to it with the right gain setting and audio stream. Besides, everything has been tested with the integration of the tC electrical functionality, warranty, prebuilt location so no shortage of trunk space, wiring harness meaning no tapping in to factory speakers and just all in short, suitable to my needs. I've ran my spectrum analyzer throughtout the 5 seating positions and balance the sound to where all passengers can listen to a close to THX sound as possible.

Does the factory tC sub get its power from the harness that goes to the radio? Or do you have to run a power hookup, ground, remote turn on, and speaker level inputs to the unit?

Everything is in the wire harness: Power, Ground, & Speaker Inputs. There are no level adjustments other than the gain. Everything else has been extensively tuned by engineers for stable operation. If you need bass boost then turn up the bass volume on the cd player or get another system.

Too bad you can't adjust the x-over on the sub. I feel that it is set too high and draws the sound to the back of the car. Sounds great for the radio, just doesn't sound too hot with anything that has deep bass. Can't go wrong on this choice if you just don't feel like taking apart your brand new car though. I am just to lazy for that these days.

i might be selling this pretty soon?

Both are ////Alpine! 360 watt 4/3/2 channel amp! 1000 watt Alpine type s 10" sub! Customized enclouser by Alpine-usa.com
I get ALOT of bass with this, it came with a 400 watt type-s sub but i switched it out with a 1000 watt type-s sub!

I heard that the bazooka setup doesnt give you much bass? But it gives good sound? IMO?
