Scion tC Speaker/Radio/Crossover info needed
Just need to know a couple of things. For anyone that has taken out the front speakers on the tC, are the filter (crossover) components located on the actual drivers for the front component set?
Does the tweeter have a filter, and the woofer just naturally rolls of at the upper end? Or is there an actual full blown passive crossover network in the car somewhere?
Also, is the stock Pioneer head unit actual 6 channels? Or does it simply have four channel, and the front one is split by a crossover for the component set?
Also if it is actually 6 channel, this adds the possibility that the filtering for the front tweeter and woofer are don't actively in the head unit.

hmmm.......good question.......i think it may all be done in the head unit....however I could be wrong......the are only 4 channels......and if you're thinking of putting a component system up front, go ahead and put an amp on it.......I'd do sub/amp/head unit first though.....

There are four channels of output. There are only capacitors on the tweeters. The DSP curves compensate for speaker response to make them sound decent. I have posted the DSP curves if you are interested in what they look like. Just do a search for "DSP Curves". Probably should be stickied, but who am I?
