Pros: compact, EZ install, sounds good/OK.
Cons: sounds just OK, nothing to write home about.

If you want just a boost to the bottom end of your stock system, it (or a Bazooka tube) is great. If you are going to upgrade the rest of the stock system, you might need more bass.

But it also depends on how much room you want to lose to the sub/box. Scosche = no loss, larger/multiple subs = little or no cargo area left. Like my current setup...but well worth it for me.

GL!

i own this and LOVE IT. enough bass to shake the car, but still sound wonderful.
my friend has a bazooka tube, and this sub sounds alot better that his. This isn't comparable to the wal-mart brand subs, this sounds as good as my friends fosgate sub

the enclosure replaces that storage compartment beside your spare tire. Now you can have a sub, yet still have the same amount of cargo space

I have it also and love it. At some point I want to replace the woofer itself with a harder hitting shallow sub, but the enclosure is great for how compact it is. It actually produces too much bass sometimes.

I'm amazed that people run open speakers, particularly in a location like that... groceries flip over, and a big can of peaches does a nosedive into the speaker....

Arrgghhh- Put a grille on it!

Or maybe the pics don't show the grille, I hope...

Exactly what I wanted to hear! I recently bought one and I was kinda worried that it might not sound right but I guess it does. I'm also gonna change out the sub but since you say "too much bass sometimes"...I'm gonna keep it!...

Yeh, CameronG63, I saw the first pic, but it's lousy- doesn't show the grille worth a damn... probably snapped by a "genius"...

I'm also using a RF Punch amp with the remote eq controller thingie, but even with the **** all the way down it can produce alot of bass from certain tracks, especially drum&bass and techno; anything with low sine waves in it sounds killer.

I have one connected to a baja mono amp, and it kicks pretty hard. It's nice if you just want to fill in the low side, and if you wanna punch it up a bit you can. Had it as loud as my ears would take and the only thing preventing it from going louder was being embarrassed by the ghetto rattle i had without sound deadening. (It's coming soon)

i use a profile california 700 amp
its a 220watt mono, with a remote to increase bass. i think its perfect for pushing my sub.

i also have 4 infinity reference series 6 1/2 shallow mount speakers, in the doors and back panels.

it sounds great

Okay, question to the guys that own the scosche box. Is there enough room next to the woofer for two amps? I need about 27". Can anyone do a quick measure for me?

Thanks
Matt

It would probably vibrate a lot...
This months Siphon magazine shows the step by step of installing one of these, it's worth taking a look.
