It'd be possible if the 10" was a slimline and you did some custom fabrication... the Elemental Designs SQ10 would be a good candidate for the rear doors...

Hell ya! 10's in the rear doors, I would also like to know why this wouldn't work with a little imagination and know-how? Sweet!

Check your local car dealerships. They strip mods from trade ins. My latest find...
800w MTX 8001 mono block amp
7500 Thunder Series 12"Woofer (23 oz magnet!)
Vented box from AE
Tsunami 2 Farad Cap
Soundstream Parametric EQ that isolates sub
All wires

All was less than 30 days old out of traded Mustang. Curcuit City still had the original work order. The guy wanted $600.
I offered $300. He called me a week later and took it. It sounds great. Thumps something fierce, louder than I can handle. Had it about 6months. Just now putting in a 2nd amp for the front speakers which will also get replaced.
Just look around, and be patient. I am 20 years older than you, so patience is a little easier to come by for me. Buy used!!!

Here is my two cents about the system....If you want big bass go with a 12" Sub in a box and build it to fit next to the spare tire housing. Stuff the box with pollyfill, carpet it and put a metal grill over it so you can put things on top of it. For the amp just get something good. I would go nuts on the amp if you just want alot of bass( something used with a 45HZ gain adjustment ) also high level input so you won't have to chage your factory deck right now.

Question for all of you now. Who has pictures of XB front speakers (3way comp. systems) 6", 4" 1" combo.

I will have to get back to you on that one since I am going to doing my system this weekend. I am going to put Audiobahn ABC6003N comp. speakers in the front with a custom box for an 8" sub in the rear and powered by a Rockford P450.4 amp. I will listen to the fronts without a sub and let you know what I think. In the passed I always liked Boston, Focal, MB quart and Infinity. That was years ago ,so I don't know how they stack up now and they are more $$$. I'm taking a risk with the Audiobahn but they are some what cheap....will see.

hey Im also 16 and i have installed multaple systems (including 2 of my own) this is what i recamend on a tight budget,

alpine 4" type s 2-way =69.99 (dash speakers)

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zz6mZMH...10C2&s=0&cc=01

alpine type e 12" sub = 89.99

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zz6mZMH...1242&s=0&cc=01

pioneer 250 x1 amp = 179.99

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zz6mZMH...200M&s=0&cc=01

12" sub box 99.99

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zz6mZMH...p?i=044H1012SS

8 ga. wireing kit = 29.99

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zz6mZMH...2PA8&s=0&cc=01

line level converter 29.99 (for use with factory headunit)

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zz6mZMH...1PL2&s=0&cc=01

total= 599.93 with free shipping

if you want you can do a little at a time (thats what i did) but i would deffinitley recamend alpine over ed anyday and i can say this because i have experience with both brands. my friend bought 4 eu-700's and 2 ed amps and 1 amp went out the next day and 2 of the subs went out a cupple weeks later. and when i say went out i mean just completley stoped working.... and i know some people are hardcore ed fans on this site so understand i am only telling you my experience with there product... and as for the alpine's i can personely vouch for them my 1st system was 2 alpine type e 10" that i bought used (5 years old) they sounded great and are still being used in my friends truck they are now nearley 6 years old...and i abused them every day (= and my current system is 3 12" type e's they absolutley pound!!! but its not just about bass thats why i recamend you get those dash speakers it will greatley improve you mids and hi's the factory dash speakers are a joak....

just my 2 cents (=

p.s. crutchfield is awsome!! they have great sirvice an they give you instructions spicific to your car that show you how to install theproduct you bought from them..

With the forum discount, it's less:

ed(i)6000s v.2's = $95/set X2 = $190

Nine.4 = $185

190
+185 =
$375

I'd stick with most of what tC said here but I'd ditch the rear set of components and spend it on a subwoofer. If you setup your front stage well you don't even need the rears, or you can run them off the deck since if you keep them they should play at a lower level than the fronts (say -3 db). Since you now have 2 additional channels on your amp freed up pick up a subwoofer and hook it up to the amp in a bridged (3 channel) configuration. Since you want a decent amount of bass wait until they re-release the 16kv (or pick up 2 11kv's). Mark

Or 6500s + Nine.2 would be $387.50.

16kv.2 = no coming back in the anytime forseeable future.

Well the Audiobahn do very well by them self, but still a little light in the bass with out a sub.

I would say that these speakers are a great way to go. They look good, are built well and sound great.Check them out: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17281 They also have a 2way system that would be easier to install. As far as the ed(i)6000s v.2's they don't look all that geat as far as build ( basket, connections and x-over )

I do agree that you should not bother with the rear speakers since they are too far behind you and the front stage is what's important.

If you would like to see what I have done I could email you some pictures as well as what I did for the Sub. ( with no real loss of storage space).
