Stock Radio Greeting, Can it Be CHanged???
i have searched this and other forums to find a way to change the "greeting" I get whenever the radio is powered up. I am speaking of the Pioneer single disc, that simply displays " Scion "
is this possible???

very possible.....the key is to r-e-a-d the owners manual for the radio has it explained in explicit detail.......basically this is how it's done
1. With the radio turned on, hold the "A" (audio) button and turn the car to the off position and back to ATT
2. Make sure the line below "Scion" is blinking and hold the "M" (mute) button and turn the car off and back to ATT
3. Using the volume controls, choose the letter then hit the A button to progress
4. To do symbols and stuff keep going through the characters available, i'm pretty sure there're numbers in there too.
My crazy girlfriend decided to read all of the manuals that came with my xB and she found some pretty cool stuff, like those hooks on the back of the front seats are for groceries and she learned how to *gasp* install that damn cargo net that is also used to hold a flat tire if u happen to get one and need to use the spare.
Have fun changing ur stuff!

Ok... so I've "read" the owner's manual that came with my stock single disc and it made no mention of this. Then I followed your directions as closely as possible (did you mean ACC instead of ATT?) and still didn't get it to change.
What gives?

okay i just tried this, it don't work... i also looked through my manual.. no where in the manual does it show any information on the head unit... you must have a special manual or pulling our leg.

Went out and tried it, couldn't get it to work.
Went through all the books that came with the car, the book for the head unit was in there (6-disk) and it doesn't say anything about this.
Also went through the owners manual, just on the off chance it was listed there for some reason, nothing.
Would be nice, but I don't see a way to do it.

I went out on break and tried it and it didn't work. I looked in the manual for the single disc, 6 disc and owner's manual and saw nothing about changing the display. It did talk about the XM radio and adding text with that, but it didn't talk about the SCION display when it first comes on.
