I think the final word is that if your radio is model # t1804 (HU for the '05 cars -weird :? :? ) you will be able to change the greeting....if you have model # T1801 your pretty much screwed!

They must've ran out of the old models and started using the new ones. I know we got a batch of PCs a while back and some of them had DVD players instead of CD players like the rest. Probably Friday afternoon and didn't want to restock their parts...

East coast thing.. no.. your radio is meant for a 2005 Scion models, the port or the dealership might accidentally installed it since they had the 05's for quite sometime @ all ports. Take note that nothing major changed between the '04's and the 05's but the radio and of course the Window Sticker that says 2005.

It can happen.. so don't sweat

I'm not sure which stereo I've got...I'm going to try this when I get home.

I'm not ready to believe that I'm "screwed" if I have the '04 model...if the text was programmed in, then there's got to be a way to change it. Has anyone tried contacting Pioneer?

What about the 6 DISC? Most likey a 04 unit since they added it to the RS1 to get rid of them.

Could this possible be the newer head units that I heard are going to be in the 2005 models???

Although, I am not sure someone would have gotten a newer head unit, unless the dealer screwed up!

I got mine Thrusday, and it doesn't work on mine either, of course, I'm not sure how long it was at the dealer. IMO I don't think that it is that Important, I never see it.

Is it possible that newer head units (the ones that are suppose to come with the 2005 models) have this option. May be the dealer screwed up and put the newer head unit in a 2004.

Just a guess.

T-1802 in my car...I tried it this morning, but was unsuccessful. Of course, I was trying to do it without any instructions nearby. Maybe I'll print these instructions up and then try it out.

Again, I think we might need to contact Pioneer about this one...
