Default are the stock speakers amplified??

i want to put my 12s in my car i have 2 amps i just wanna put 2 amps in and 2 12s to my stock stereo i did this with my 2000 celica but im not sure if this is the same as that one. i dont wanna replace all the speakers and the stereo.
i wanna put bass blockers on my stock speakers add some more tweeters and my 12s!! i did that with my alpine v12 and my sony 4 channel 1000 watt amp hooked up to 2 audiobahns. but i dont wanna screw this car up. i dont wanna jump right in to doing this research this time. the stereo system sucks as far as loudness and clarity goes but a few enhancements can make it GREAT!!!!!!

although being extremely nice for a stock radio... you will benefit greatly by changing out the radio... if that's not an option you can add an amp to the factory highs and that should keep up with your subs

IMO it's took much work to amp the stock speakers without buying a head unit and doing it right. But it can be done. Hopefully your amps have high level inputs. you will need to buy a harness to splice the wires from the head unit to the amp and then run a set back to the speakers. Or what I would recommend if you got money is to go with a Panasonic 9800 Head unit that has a built in 60 watt rms amp (unheard of in the industry) for your highs and factory speakers, this way you can cross them over without bass blockers, because it has a built in crossover and use your big amps for your subs. If your gonna go through all the trouble of running power ground and remote turn on to your sub amps why not do the job right?

well now its 5yrs later finally change the head unit!! it sounds great i just popped it in and since i had everything ran already for the amps it was a breeze and 2000 percent better!! i swear that it sounds like i bought premium speakers but they are stock, w/ tweeters from walmart!
