oh yazzzzsir! it do do that it does nothin else but sKratch!

steel needle in shellac groove wears down the point to fit the groove

tracking force? about four ounces (

bucks: technical sidebar do not read and complain back to me that you got bored!
the squiggles of the monster groove wag the stylus needle which fulcrums to the diaphram in that round "soundbox" (head of the tonearm). Soundbox diaphram compresses air in the hollow tonearm which leads to a rudimentary horn. No electricity needed, not in playback, and not in the original recording studio. The singers jammed sounds right into a recording horn. You analogue guys remember how that used to be, with vinyl and grooves. With this pup you change the needle after every play because it blunts down in a hurry- it hones its point to fit the groove so you don't want to re-use a blunt needle on the next record.

I dunno. I think at a show, that would at the ver least, get a laugh or two. Now, what would take some skills, would be to motor that record, and have it work out of the speakers.

Makes me think...Hmm. I do have a CD of old 78's that I cleaned up, and mixed down to a Disc a while ago...Maybe the next time I'm at a show, I'll play that disc...
No one else would have that, fer sure.

Whutz the uff? I come back thinking this thread was DEAD. F! the read count is 1170/doubled!

Tell you what, how -bad- (awful) this period's music can be: the stuff I like is fake-serious stuff called vaudeville comedy.

sample lyrics. Solo mama in 1923 sings in, like, Marilyn Monroe on crank voice.. I kinda spell it out how she sounds the words! Lovesick girl!

put a pelvic grind into the tune and you're there

I'm a lonesome cry-why-why-why baby!
Waitn' for my Daddy to come ho-oh-ome.
Can't even think, can't eat a bite
Can't even sleep, no ap-pe-tite.
Tellll me Mr. Faaaate
Please don't hesitaaaaate
Won't you kindly say what-made-him
e-vap-o-rate!

I never wasa cry-whywhywhy baby
(gutteral now)
till he got the fever to go roam

Putting it mild, I'm simply wi-ild a-loneeee.
I e-ven painted every door **** white....
so he wouldn't lose his way at night
I'm a lone-some cry-why-why-why baby,
Daddy come ho-oh-o-oh-ome to me!

oh sufferin turd gravy! I forgot one line:

I even threw away the front door lock
so he wouldn't even have to knock
I'm a lonesome cry-
etc etc

this page shizzled right up to date:

http://sites.gizoogle.com/?url=https...=800237#800237
particular attention is called to the quality translation of the caption under the phongraph picture, and also to the finish of my side bar following DJ's question "does it Scratch?" Oh man I think that gizoogle is a minder readah!

I don't give a flying crap about the stupid translater. Quit plugging it for the love of God. At first when I began reading this thread I was sort of curious, then every time SciFly posted and I read it, I couldn't help but want to slit my wrist. **shudder**

Hard to believe! Now confess! How many also slit their wrists? How many dead? How many dying.. other than half the tizzay readas of dis tread!

Puts away the shanks and guns
Slam yo xbs boxes roun'
Talk to Jesus and make peace
and trow the AKs to da groun!

This is electrical and interior and ICE (whatever that is). I don't know that crank-up talking machines count for much, but we tolerate wyldkard and SCI TC GUY nonetheless. Slammin' Brothers yet!

To answer your question, TJ- I could not get out in time. Angelo and Kim were working here with me at the house until nearly nine o'clock. I am getting good at burping Kim's infant but still I -don't change no diapers- ugh! (thanks for the report, TJ)
