Default For those that have done the Navi swap...

How does the sound quality compare to the factory system? I'm considering doing this swap, but I definately don't want to end up with a worse sound system than I started with!

Also, can you still use the factory Bazooka subwoofer in the xB with this swap?

Any info you can give me regarding how you like the swap after-the-fact, I would greatly appreciate.

Thanks!

Jeremy

I thought the sound was better after the swap, i had more control over it with the new unit...x-over points and gains.

the bazooka tube shuold be able to work (if it was hi-level input, or has a hi-low converter. don't know 'cause i don't have one....)

I guess I should have specified that I'm referring to the '04 Camry Navigation Unit; I assume that is what you are referring to as well!

How do you like the unit overall? It looks very nice, does it funtion well too?

I'm not quite sure that it sounds as good. It doesn't have the different eq settings, that with the factory speakers do sound pretty good. Volume is the same or louder except for the rears that I do not think are as loud now. I could never hear them anyway so it didn't matter to me. I am going to be adding some pretty high end equipment and I do know it has a very clean balanced signal out going to the amp so I am not worried about it. I would not go back now. I love the system and also have my ipod wired to it. The nav unit is very easy to use and I think it is one of the best ones out.

I install the Avic-N1 all the time and i like the Toyota version much better. They are all very good. Pioneer, Alpine and Eclipse. Touchscreen is a must but it is harder to use on the flip out screens. Did you have the Toyota before and got rid of it? What do you like more about the Pioneer navigation?

Yeah, I wish the Toyota would do more. But I love the factory look too much now for some reason. The Toyota does do some of the most stuff for a factory unit though. Backup camera, voice recognition.

the newer toyota nav's have dual dvd drives. one for the nav rom and the other is for movies and music. its possible to fit the factory nav in our scions. keep in mind that some camrys has an external amp (jbl) they are all dual din but width and and height is slightly different from differnt models. i'm a big fan of the avic n1, but after seeing the nav from the 04 solara.... its freakin amazing!

I'm thinking he means San Franciso....wrong coast.

I was thinking about the nav options and what I would like is an indash touchscreen that I could control tuner, cd, dvd and nav through. Figured the dvd/cd, MP3 player could be placed in the cubby hole. Would have to have preouts for amplification.
I would like to be able to control everything through the screen or an infrared remote and just use the player to swap out music. Would also consider a disc changer in addition to the cd/dvd player for roadtrips.
What size screen will fit in the stock double din location? I saw someone with 8.5" screen. Is that the largest that will fit?
I don't know much about what is avail through factory options, which is why I'm asking for info. Have no problem going aftermarket, I'd just like it to look clean and as stock as possible.
