Default Tilt Steering Mod???

Ok, Ive seen just about everything from the guys and girls of these forums on all sorts of crazy mods. I would like to know if anyone has tried modifying there tilt steering to give it a little more travel (xb). If so I would love to hear about it. If not im going to be the first to try and if I fail Ill tell you all how many things I broke trying so at least ill provide some laughs.

bumping this up from the dead.. I REALLY hate that I cannot get enough tilt out of the wheel.

Has anyone ever modified the OE system to give more tilt?

You can install 2 spacers where the 2 bolts hold the steering column to the dash frame. Nothing too wild- may be .25 to .5 in max. You will most likely have to cut a little bit of the plastic cover (right below the steering column)

How so? You mean the airbag deploying into your chest? That's why I have a Momo steering wheel. :D

I finally lowered mine. Took a pair of .3 in thick spacers to get 1 inch drop. Feels great!
