Default Unlock all doors with one click

Sorry if this is in the owners manual but I bought my xB used and the previous owner couldn't find the manual.

Anyways, is there a way to unlock all the doors with one click of the remote? I don't understand why you have to click it once to unlock the drivers door then once more quickly to unlock the whole car.

Thx

It's a safety feature. If it's just you getting in your car there's no need to unlock all the doors unless you are putting items in other parts of the car. If it opened all 4 every time, someone could wait on the other side of your car and get in as soon as you pressed the button.

the factory doorlocks need a double (-) pulse to unlock all the doors. most alarms have a feature that double pulses the unlock wire so you can unlock all the doors with one push of the button.

But to use the factory remote to double pulse... can't be done. YOU are the double pulse.

My xA is wired for 1-click for all doors (including rear hatch). Though I don't think I got the alarm most Scion owners got... I bought from a Toyota dealership that offered me all kinds of other Toyota stuff too like Proguard...

My wife's Matrix however, bought from the same dealership requires 2 clicks for all doors. Wacky.

Is it really that much more work to click twice? Doesnt seem like that big a deal.

Thank you, I was gonna say that! I didn't think that pushing the button a 2nd time would be that difficult...

I'm not that paranoid/scared for such a safety feature. And for the past 10 years I've gotten used to clicking the button once. If it's programmable, then I see no harm in asking if it's possible doing it.

If not, then I'm not going to go and put alot of work or money into it just so I have to click it once.

So, can some kind person please confirm that it is or is not in the manual?

There's a booklet for the Scion Security w/RKE that tells you how to program your security, which includes:

Unlocking all doors with one press of the button!

I've tried it, but have failed, if anyone is interested, I'll scan the booklet and post it.

this feature has personally saved my life. This one time I was tryin to leave the house and my sister needed a ride to her boyfriends house. if all doors unlocked she would have gotten in the car, and i would have wasted a 1/6 gallon of gas!! what a life saver!

Okay here's the page from my security manual.

Now it does say for xA and I'm not sure if it's different for the xB or tC, but there it is.

i'd be damn lucky to get half way through that in the 40sec's that you need to do it in. I couldn't even read the whole thing in under a minute
