Volume level on stock Pioneer - does it max out at 62?
Ok, I know my ears aren't shot, but I've maxx-ed out the volume on my stock Pioneer (the base, 1cd model) at volume 62... and it just wasn't that loud. i mean sure, it was loud if you were trying to have a conversation with someone in the xB, but not as loud as 160 watts would suggest.
Has anybody else noticed this? Or is there something wrong with my Pioneer? Or is there some way to override 62 being the maximum level?

No, you need to change the car type setting. On xB or xA it's plenty loud.
The tC setting it just overly quiet for some reason.
There's a how-to on that floating around here.
For the moment though: Turn off your stereo. Hold the little silver button under the power button until you see 'Car Type,' then use the directional buttons to select 'xA' or 'xB.'
Sorry that wasn't very clear, the how-to should be a lot more concise.
