Didn't know they still made those. I haven't seen them for about 8 years.

They do sound pretty good and utilize fairly small enclosures.

I haven't seen a whole lot of the Alumapro stuff as of late. We had a dealer here in town in the late 90's and it was pretty decent. I liked the anodized cones, thought that was cool. If the 8's are putting your 12's to shame I would re-examine the enclosure that you have your subs in. With the exception of super-subs (JL W7, RE XXX, etc.) there is no way 2 8's should outplay 2 12's. On a side note if anyone ever comes across an Alumapro M-16 (pics: http://www.avtozvuk.com/az/Az_0301/C...014%20copy.jpg ) give me a holla. Mark

I think you may have missed the point in my last post. I would be willing to bet that in the correct enclosure with the correct amplifier set up those Alpines will outplay (in terms of output) the Alumapros any day of the week. Now if the issue is quality of sound that also could be related to the enclosure that the Alpine subs currently reside in. If you just feel like buying new subs more power to you but if you (like most of us) have any sort of budget I think you could save a ton of cash just by making sure the box and amp setup is correct. I would say the Alpines would kill the Alumapros in SPL. But the Alumapros are more of an SQL speaker. And for a little extra cash they'll custom etch a logo on the cone for you.
