What do you think of this grill mod?
I just modified my grill emblem with leds. Took a long time, but it looks awesome. Some of you might have seen my xb with it on at one of the Cerritos meets, but I put in on my billet grill with adhesive. This mod is on the stock grill emblem. A lot cleener lookin'.
What do you guys think?

Long story.... but i got time, im bored.
So a long while ago, i took the emblems off the back, and i wanted to do something with them. I don't know why, but i decided i was going to dremel the leters through and put lights behind it. I thought it would be an awesome idea. So i did it and i bought a 3 blue bulb led kit at auto zone for 10 bucks. I couldn't figure out how to mount lights behind it so it could reflect throughout the emblem, and i didn't want the light to directly shine through and blind people, because they are so bright. So i decided to mount one to the left of the S pointed in, in the middle of the C pointing toward the middle I, and one behind the bottom of the N, so that way, all would be covered somehow. But again, i didn't know how to mount them behind the emblem, but i remembered that i have a billet grill, and i could just shove them between the rows of metal on the grill. It was half ___, but it worked. Then i looked at the scion emblem on the original grill and i noticed the emblem on the front is the exact same one as in the back, so i took it off the front emblem off the emblem mount and decided to put the one i cut with the dremel on it. so i drilled holes on the black plastic on the emblem holder from the front where the leds were positioned on my billet grill. I also glued aluminum foil on the black plastic behind the letters of the emblem so the light could reflect throughout. I then popped the lights, in wired it up, glued the emblem on the emblem mount, and i was done! Lot of work, but it looks cool, and it was fun! Not really, just fun to look at!

Thanks guys, I think some aftermarket company should make a ligh up emblem, but I guess we have to wait and find out. I've see some light up Honda emblems, maybe it'll catch on.

nice mod! gotta go to a meet one day and check that out. I want to do a red emblem for myself. BTW, the LEDs are cheaper here: http://www.svc.com/3laledclco.html and it's already prebuilt - ready to be plugged in.

Great DIY mod. Right now you have a unique emblem that you can be proud of, and it is unique. Goes real well with the Box. If a manufacture picks up on it, there will be many more out there. I like "unique". I would just as soon they stop making the xB, and change the name and looks. Unique is what personalization is all about. Have fun with it, and enjoy.
