Default WHATS A GOOD CAPACITOR?

I HAVE A LIGHTING AUDIO 1F CAPACITOR. AND I FIND THAT'S STILL NOT ENOUGH. SO PEOPLE I NEED YOUR HELP. WHAT IS A COMPARABLE BRAND OR NEXT STEP IN QUALITY FROM THAT ONE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT TSUNAMI CAPACITOR'S ARE GOOD. I ONLY PAID $80 FOR MINE WITH INSTALLATION. SO ANY AND ALL GOOD SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Order of things to do:

Big 3 Upgrade

Better Battery

Bigger Alt

I just wouldn't bother w/ buying more/different caps.

What exactly are you trying to alleviate w/ the cap?

alternator---->www.ohiogen.com
Capacitor---->Alumapro 5 farad
I wouldn't bother with a 2nd battery. like we don't have enough space as it is for all our stuff.

not additional battery, better battery... in conjunction with big3 it's often better than a cap...

we got the 2000 series which is a full size battery and use a PAC isolator with it, but the smaller 600 series are no bigger than golf cart batteries and could easily be mounted under a seat or anywhere. But no argument we bought one of the iraggi alts off the group buy and those are worth every penny.

I did the big three grounding. I also have a 1 and 1/2 farad Phoenix Gold cap. No problems for me...knock on wood.

Default Cap Info

OK, only fact here.
If your amp(s) have a tightly regulated power supply, then a CAP will do nothing for you.
If your amp(s) have an unregulated power supply, then get a good CAP(S). The rule of thumb is 1 farad per 500 watts.
Like anything else ther are good CAPS and bad CAPS. Expect to pay around $180.00 or more for a good 1 farad CAP. Don't go Aluma Pro, the do not discharge fast enough. stay with a round type, like Stinger for example.
If your amp(s) are big, don't worry about a better or additional battery. An additional battery will only cause a heavier load on your alternator. instead, upgrade to a higher output alternator.
If you want to stop your headlights from blinking witht he bass then, are you ready for this, install a half farad CAP on the main power supply to the headlights themselves. let me know if you want to know more, this is the short version.
sorry for the typos...

That headlight cap suggestion is genious...never even thought of that...of course, doing that would probably scare most people since it's a lot easier to stick a cap on your power wire you ran through the car...but still....genious.

Stay away from any Aluma Pro, carbon caps, hybrid caps, they just don't discharge quick enough to do any good, stick with the round electrolytic canister types(even all these aren't created equall either but most are close). If your running multiple 1 Farad caps and they all have digital readouts then you would be best to remove all but one of the readouts. They add too much resistance, generally remove the one farthest away from the amps. Don't buy any large fittings, distribution blocks to connect these together either because it adds too much resistance. Use either some buss bars or a simple wire with connectors on the ends to connect them.

I'm using four 1Farad caps on around 1600 watts. It helps tremendously but it still needs an alternator which yours will too. But once you do this(alternator for current and caps for ultra quick bursts of energy) you should have some incredibly quick bass that you can turn way up.
