What's the loudest i can turn my stock up too without blowing the speakers? Also, if i get new speakers or an in dash dvd/cd will that make it louder. It could just be me but i think the stock is relativly quiet

you have to take your eq settings and the SSP in consideration when asking this question cuz your eqs are essentially volume ***** but for different frequencies
becuase SSP feel with some EQ at 35 or whatever volume is much louder than SSP neutral with no EQ at the same volume

there are so many different factors that come in to play with this

the best thing to do is to turn it up loud and if you hear a speaker distorting then back it off a little

I think maybe what you're trying to say instead of "It's kinda quiet" is "I want it louder", which is an admirable goal, but I don't think kinda quiet is very accurate... more likely it's just not loud enough hehe.

Having myself sold these Scions for almost 5 years I have found out something interesting regarding the radio. I know it's been mentioned before but I will repost it cuz it works. For some reason all the scions from the port are set to flat line. That means all the radios are not set up and thus sound like ___. It's really simple to set them and then you can completely hear a diff.

Here is what you do, you can turn the volume up a bit so you can hear the DRASTIC diff. between the two settings.

1.first you wanna set your SSP to Feel.
2.then you wanna turn your bass to 2-3 and ur treble to 4-5
3.then finally you want to hold the SSP button down until it shows what car you have it set to. once that pops up turn it till it displays the setting for xA.(TRUST ME)
For some reason this set up in any SCION works the best.
Also when you turn your volume way up the scion built in EQ will filter out the bass to where it wont make your speakers pop, almost like a crossover.

try it and see what you think. I set up every single one of my SCIONS for my customers on delivery and they live by these settings.

i turn mine all the way up to 60 all the time
it not quiet
i do ____ off the people next to me
and all my rear view and side mirrors are worthlees from the vibration
its really clear for being stock at that volume though
but it could always be louder
that is until you go def

I prefer the Xb setting after playing around with the Xa and tC.

I use SSP "hear" and bas -1 and tre 0

Sounds very natural and hi-fi

As long as you don't hear distortion you are pretty safe. The OEM head unit doesn't push a lot of power so you are at risk of damaging the speakers from clipping rather than overpowering them.

If you get a new head unit, it will probably be louder because most aftermarket head units have more powerful amplifiers. If you get new speakers that are more efficient than the OEMs, they will be louder because they require less power to achieve higher volume levels.
