Who has a Blaupunkt Gtt-1200 bass tube?
If anyone has this tube, can you chime in and tell your experiences with it? I'd appreciate the feedback, since I'm looking to get one this week...

There's a couple problems with that bass tube (purely audiophile elitist though). For a starter system on a budget, I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad choice. You would need to couple the sub with a 250W monoblock amp.
1. Port and sub are on different sides of the box. This will induct a crossfading base response with multiple standing waves. It's also one of the reasons why the bazooka tubes are designed they way they are.
2. It's ported and not designed for a band pass effect. This will be overly effecient in turn making the bass almost too punchy. Perhaps good for sharp rock with little in the way of under/overtones (journey, bad english, rush, def leppard, etc).
In a car with a trunk you have a smaller box inside of a box giving you about the same effect as a band pass design. With the two points of sonic radiation, you might get into a bit of a warbling or buffeting effect causing the bass to sound sloppy.
I'd like to hear if anyone else has one of these tubes in an xB to see what they think.
Me, I have a couple JL 8W7s going off a 500/1 amp. The setup worked great in my car (dodge neon) but it's a little heavy on the bass in the xB.

hrmm.... I am on a strict budget, so this looked like the best thing for the money, but i listen to a lot of spanish music, which does use a lot of bass:
sample for u to see: (in order from most powerful bass hits to least - but its all strong bass)
Reggaeton-

What amp are you going to use? If you haven't got one already, you don't need to spend much on that either, even a cheap stereo amp that puts out 100w in bridged mode would get that tube thumping in a small hatch.
