Default Xb dash noise (drivers side)

After 1400 noise free miles I'm starting to get a strange noise. It only seems to happen when the car's body flexes... not so much on stiff bumps. It sounds like a creak or tap on or near the drivers side of the dash (top). I've tried pressing, holding and wedging, but nothing seems to change it.

I thought maybe the speaker or something in the dash might have loosened, but I'm not sure how to pop the speaker grill off. Anyone else hear/fix this problem?

I know the metal "grate" on the outside of the car vibrates on mine. I had to take some sealer and stick it down. The grate I am talking about is underneath the windshield wipers. It sounded liek it was on the inside to me but realized it was coming through from the outside.

it still seems to do it even when I press on the grill... haven't had a chance to pop it off yet, though

Were you able to fix the problem? Or do you just live with the rattle? I think mine has a similar rattle...

I have the same problem with mine rattling. I think its one of the most aggrivating things if you dont have the radio on. theres never a time that it DOESNT rattle. i figured maybe glueing the thing in place. i dont know if anyone has fixed there problem yet. if they have let me know what you did and how you did it. thanks~ jessica

id put a dab of silicone on the corners, let it dry, then put it back in

I guess it is/was the grill. The other day on the way home I stuck a finger nail between the dash and grill (shoved it over a hair). Since then I hardly ever hear it.
I'll try some thin foam or the silicon trick... that should do the trick!
