i have a yellow top in my scion and it fits just fine. you do have to do some modification to the positive connections because they dont reach since the terminals on the yellow top are closer to the middle of the battery than the stock one. anyways it will fit just perfectly and took me about 15 min to do.

only used when u have high amperage draw...such as big stereo amplifiers....of course if u really need a battery like that u would also need to upgrade the alternator....unless you just want the battery for looks....

not true. the red tops are great for evreyday drivers who don't have stereos installed.
Number one reason why?: Non maintence batteries. These batteries use gel cells, and never require solution to be added, plus they last a whole lot longer, and you can mount them side ways, up side down, any way you want, without leaks or damaging the battery.
All of my vehicles have optimas, and only one has a aftermarket sound system.
I'm not saying replace your battery right away, but if yours was to die, I would suggest replacing it with an optima.
BTW: optimas red tops can be found at costco for under $100.

those yellow tops or deep cycle bat. there mint to be drained all the way and recharged there not mint to be used as a regular bat. it not mint to be used as a starting bat that will discharge alittle then be charged back up. i have personally had to send back about 5 of the yellow tops this month at my stereo shop from people using them as a cranking bat. if your going to use any of them use the red top (which i have never had a problem with) and if your doing a big system just get a good cap. or do get a high out put alternater
thanks

Sean,
I agree with you 100% about the yellow not being a cranking batt.. but I too sell them daily in my shop and I personally ran just a yellow for cranking a big V8 benz engine and running ICE for over 2 years, and have not had a problem to date.

Another solution if your really worried about your cranking amp and a big amp draw from your system I would suggest a red top and a batcap. only thing is that this setup is a lil pricy but if I had more funds this is the way I would go.
