Default 06 xb vs 07 fit for auto x

Hey guys I have been looking into purchasing a used car for auto x I want something that's low on power but handles good. I want something that makes about 120hp but I'm going to invest in a full suspension with sways and struts. Some good sticky tires and 16 inch wheels. Preferably enkei rfp01s anyway. I want to know what do u all think is honestly the better choice between the two. I used to own a tc and I know scion is good but so is honda. I figure the only thing that hurts the xb is it is fairly easy to roll over right? Considering its boxy. Lemme know what you all think. Thanks.

My old xB got t-boned by someone doing 60 and my car didn't flip. I use to work for Honda, the fit felt like it would flip easier than my old xB.

I own both and I would say to go with the Honda. It has more power and it's lower. The Fit will probably cost $2-3k more than an xB. What about other options? If you like Toyota, how about an xA or Yaris? Those could probably be had for less than an xB so more money to spend on parts.

The Fit had more horsepower, but my xB was faster then the Fit, I'm pretty sure the xB is lighter

xB is lighter than a Fit by like 75 lbs. Not sure what you mean by "faster", Fit is quicker in straight line acceleration. Both mine are manual trans, maybe the autos are different.

Get a good I/H/E combo (SRI, 4-2-1 header, dc sports exhaust). Remove the excess weight from the box by removing the seats and putting in a single fixed position driver. Do the same with the fit and you'll find the box is hella better (biased or not)

between the two of them, i'd get the xb. honda's just seem to be too guttless at the lower rpms and too peaky on power.

but if it was any scion, it would be a manual transmission xa cuz they are light and don't have any stability programs to interfere. went to a scion only autocross in delaware, and an rs1 xa driven by a guy who never autocrossed before had the fastest time all day cuz the car is just so light and easy to handle. granted it was a very tight course with very little room for my tc to gallop, but basically weight is the the greatest asset/handicap in autocross.

I own a '04 xB, and my buddy owns an '07 Fit, I am the one who installs his parts and I do all my own work. Having worked on both cars, tracked my car a lot, I prefer my car because the xB has torque, throttle response, and the xB feels better in terms or response. BTW both cars are about the same in performance upgrades. Plus I'm tired of everyone thinking the Fit is a better car in terms of performance, the xA/xB/Yaris/Echo/Vitz is just as competitive as the Fit, and we need more people racing their 1Nz powered cars! There are already too many Fit going the performance route and it annoys me.

I also have to agree with the Miata suggestions. Dirt cheap and will out handle any xB or Fit.

Some autocross events will not allow the xB to participate. 90% of the ones in Indiana are this way.

Agreed, check this first. I autoX with a group on the far side of the state, because the group that is one town over won't let me run the xB. Also xBs are put in STS to start with, and I *think* excluded from any class that would allow R-compound tires.

My Box has never felt like it was going to tip at an event, but it does make people nervous (especially during a ride-along).

(I'm running Swift Sport Mach springs, Progress Rear Sway and stock tires in this)
