Ok - I've gotten some good feed back that 18's with 35 series tires are going to ride like crap no matter what springs you have on our box. Welp - some of you guys have said you have 40 series tires on 18's with a 2 inch drop. I'd like to know if and how bad you are rubbing tires on front when you turn. I'm thinking about puttiong my stock springs back on with my 18's because honestly it drives pretty damn good. The height is not the best...but it drives good. Does anyone have pics of a 18" wheel with a 40 series tire on stock suspension. I think a 40 series would help fill the wheel gap a little and help with ride quality. Let me know- thanks dean

215/40/18 with a two inch drop will not only make your tires rub in your wheel wells, but your front lip WILL get scraped up on every drive way you approach that has a 25 degree angle or more!!!

i have a 2 inch drop with 215/40 tires.... 18x8 rims with 40 offset... I have no rubbing issues at all. Now with my old rims 18x7.5 with 42 offset the only rubbing i got was when i turned the steering all the way to the left or right and thats when it rubbed against the inner plastic....which didn't bother me at all.

thanks for the info - I don't see why you say the 40's series tire would scrape more than a 35 series. If anything the raise of the tire would help in front lip scraping issues. I've got a 1.75 drop with no problems going down steep slopes with my 35s-I could see on different offset wheels the tires rubbing on the inner fenderwells, fender lips, or turning. I guess it depends on offset of the wheel.

hey i am on my third xb!!!!

I have always run 18in w35 tires fuzion tires are the trick!!!!

I still have not figured out the whole post pice thing so click on my profile and see the two and also check back as soon as they get scion life fixed and i will have my third one on as well!!!

TRD springs with trd shocks are nice as well

I wouldn't go any other way!!!!

I have 205 40 18s and the TRD springs on my box no rubbing at all - they ride great

I use a 225/40/18 and only rub when fully turned to the lock. I'm on Eibach Pro-kit springs and it's not that bad.

215/40/18 is the same diameter as a 215/35/19. So, if you want to figure out rubbing issues or fittament, look at somebody that is running 19s.

A 215/40/18 will actualy prevent you from scraping your front lip more than a 215/35/18 because it lifts your box an inch.

The main reason for rubbing is incorrect offset. There are plenty of guys running Goldlines and Tanabe DF210s with 215/35/19s, and one guy that I know of for sure that is running DF210s with a 215/40/18.

As long as your offset is correct you should have no rubbing issues and the extra rubber will fill up the fender gap a little more. The only reason I didnt go with a 215/40/18 is because I didnt want my box to be an extra inch higher.

215/35/18 = 23.9"
215/40/18 = 24.8"
215/35/19 = 24.9"
