Default Is a 2" drop to Low???

I am thinking of lowering my box. Is 2" to low for NY? I have 17" wheels w/ 205/40/17 tires. Will I have to be cautious about every little dip and driveway? Any help will be appreciated.

I also have goldlines and I am running 18" rims. I have scrapped the front end once backing out of a friends driveway. I do believe extra caution is needed to assure yourself that you don't scrape the front end. You should also watch out for cement parking markers. If you back up or pull up to close you will also hit the lower lip. :?

My car is lowered 2.25 in the front and 2 inches in the rear, I'm running 18's and I live in NYC. I have never had a problem what-so-ever. I need to go lower so I think I will be removing half a coil in the front to get it lower. It's just not low enough in the front for me. I go in and out of my driveway on a daily basis and I have never scraped once.

A 2" drop is pretty much the standard most xB owners go for regardless of wheel size. I had a 2" drop, but switched to coilovers and am now at roughly 2.5" drop up front, and 2.25" drop in the back.

Then there are some who have Cusco and HKS coilovers that are even lower!

I just dropped a friends car this afternoon, we used goldlines of course, it look really good, even with the stock rims, he got a pretty steep drive way, and he just called me to let know he cleared his drive way. so yeah, 2" is fine.
