if you want to go with 5 on 100 mm, you can use one existing stud and drill the remaining 4 holes in each hub and press in the studs. Your rotors and drums will also have to be re-drilled.

The only real advantage to going 5 lug on most 4 lug cars is to be able to draw from a much larger variety of wheels. This is especially true in the case of Nissan 240SXs, for example, because you can get wider, and lower offset wheels in 5x114.3mm, whereas it's super hard to find the same fitment wheels in the standard 4x114.3mm bolt pattern the cars come with. On the Scions, if you switch to a 5x100mm bolt pattern, not only are you NOT increasing your wheel fitment options, but most readily-available 5x100mm wheels are actually WORSE because they're the +50mm wheels made for the Subarus. In fact, most wheel manufacturers offer lower offsets for 4x100mm wheels than 5x100mm wheels because the only JDM cars that use the 5x100 are the Subarus (and to some extent, the Celica, which isn't very popular in Japan anyway).

5×100
True that most of the 5×100 PCD Japanese cars are high offset, but don't forget the VW's. Tuning wheels for the VW Golf 4 GTi, VW Jetta 4, Audi TT will fit. Other 5×100 fitments include: Toyota Matrix, Dodge Neon, hmm... I'm sure there are others too...

I'm doing a thirteen stud conversion. I figure the more studs, the better, right?
<grin>
But seriously, the five-stud conversion thing is more of a status thing than anything else. I mean, seriously, when is the last time you heard of someones wheel breaking off because they were rallying with the standard four-stud setup? When you were rolling a 92 Civic hatchback with the five-stud conversion everyone knew (or thought) that you had the Type-R suspension on the car... I think that is probably the most obvious status symbol for that conversion anyway... (yeah, the 240SX had both, but it wasn't as cool since the SEs came with 5-lug anyway)
I would do the conversion if I had some cool wheels...

It was just a thought. I found some dope ___ rims that i wanted, and figures I could have exclusive rims and be the first with a 5 lug conversion. but after talk to some people, it looks like that is dayam well not going to happen. Unless of course, you guys would like to contribute to the "my car has 5 studs and yours only has 4" fund.

bad news....the rear hubs have 4 "spokes" that the wheel studs are attached to, so there is no room on them for 5 holes.....at least using stock hubs, dont know how the fronts are yet. See Ya, Louie
